Post-Haryana win; BJP, Moditva go offensive ::: "It's Congress policy to make one Hindu caste fight another, but when it comes to divisions among Muslims, they are silent" - Modi

"It's Congress policy to make one Hindu caste fight another, but when it comes to divisions among Muslims, they are silent" - PM Modi

"Congress janti hae jeetna Hindu batega, utna hi uska faida hoga (The Congress party knows as much Hindu society gets divided, it will garner as much political dividends)" - Modi

“The entire ecosystem of Congress was misleading the public in Haryana. They tried to spread lies among Dalits.

The Dalits realised that Congress would snatch away reservations from them and distribute them to their vote bank (i.e Muslims) ,” Modi said.

-- These prove one thing quite clearly, - that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be offensive in BJP's campaign during the fast approaching Jharkhand and Maharashtra elections. In other words, Hindutva will be back !!

The BJP will be hoping that its Haryana victory is not a passing or a temporary phenomenon and will be highly consequential one in the long run.

Do not forget, the Modi government (Modi Govt 2.0 between 2019 and 2024) has already won Hindu hearts by constructing a grand Ram temple at the site of the demolished Babri structure at Ayodhya and also by abrogating Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir that ended special status enjoyed by the Muslim-majority state.

In contrast, the Congress has earlier tried to make a distinction between Hindus and Hindutvawadis. In 2022, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, at a public meeting in Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur on Dec. 12, had said: “I am Hindu but not a Hindutvawadi ... Mahatma Gandhi was a Hindu but Godse was Hindutvawadi.”

Interestingly, Modi's Hindutva push coincides with growing tension in Israel-Iran conflict and that actually brings in terrorism and radical Islam into focus yet again.

The talk about the rise of the radical Islamists has stirred the entire South Asia as it has immense short-term and long-term ramifications. In Bangladesh too, the fundamentalists have had their say especially after Aug 5th when Sheikh Hasina was ousted and had to take shelter in New Delhi.

Diplomatically, India has cherished good ties with Israel and Modi-Benjamin Netanyahu friendship too is well known.

Indian security experts feel that in the neighbourhood, Pakistan is another example. Unless Pakistan changes its future roadmap, the country will remain unstable and globally suspect vis-a-vis radical Islam and terrorism.

People are already debating Pakistan's economic crisis. They also wonder whether Bharat's western neighbor may fall by its own weight.

In contrast, India has its own strength. Even countries like Maldives after experimenting courting troubles with India has lately changed strategy. This is no small development.

There’s recognition that these are testing times for a multi-religious nation where 80 percent of it 1.35 billion people are Hindus. Muslims comprise around 15 percent of India's population while less than 3 percent are Christians.

India has a sizable number of Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists. And all stand united when it comes to broad national issues. The successful holding of elections with huge turnout especially in Kashmir valley - which was once known for boycott- is a testimony to success of Delhi's policy.

Even Muslim leaders individually say the rise of rabid Islamists, the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict and BJP's Haryana win will boost Hindutva politics and may even threaten the social fabric in India.

The refrain being - what’s going on will in the ultimate lead to greater consolidation of Hindu votes.
