No Simultaneous Lok Sabha, Assembly Polls For J&K ::: UP, Bihar and West Bengal to have seven phase polls

On the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates, National Conference leader

Farooq Abdullah says, "On one side the Govt of India wanted One Nation, One Election and on the other side, they are holding State elections and parliamentary elections in 4 states, why is this (J&K) being denied?

When every party wanted elections (in J&K) then what is the reason it is not being done? If they say security is the reason, I do not think so.

"How is that security is alright for the parliamentary elections and not for the state elections?..."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweets

"This time in the elections, BJP aims to win 370 seats and its resolve to take NDA beyond 400 has filled the workers across India with new energy.

It's the responsibility of the ECI to maintain peace, and hence they should take all strict actions that are needed."

"This is going to be an important election, I would like to appeal to the people to vote vigilantly as this election will shape the direction of Uttar Pradesh.

This is an election for the employment of the youth, security for the women and the MSP for the farmers. We want that elections should be held fairly."
