Tipra Motha joins BJP Govt under Manik Saha ::::::: AIMIM takes the battle into 'enemy' front ... but his enemy is Opposition INDI alliance ::: Owaisi's electoral mission in Bihar, UP leave Sickularism red-faced

Senior Tipra Motha leader Animesh Debbarma and party MLA Brishaketu Debbarma took oath as ministers in the BJP-led government in Tripura.

The development comes days after a tripartite agreement was signed in New Delhi between the Tipra Motha, the Tripura government and the Centre. The tripartite agreement signed on March 2 in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah agreed to amicably resolve all issues of the indigenous people of Tripura related to history, land and political rights, economic development, identity, culture and language, according to an official statement.

The Tipra Motha, however, says it would not give up its demand for a separate ‘Greater Tipraland’ state by carving out areas falling under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).  After the swearing-in ceremony, senior leader Animesh Debbarma said his party would move towards their “target”.

When asked about ‘Greater Tipraland’, he said there would not be any shift from their demand.

“We will work towards achieving our goal,” Debbarma said.

When asked whether they would be able to launch a movement for their demand even after joining the government, he said, “Of course, we will be able to launch such a movement. There are instances of central ministers getting arrested while participating in movements. We will go ahead with our demands even in the government.”

The party chief, Pradyot Manikya said, “Those who have become ministers cannot change the style of working. They must raise their demands even in the cabinet. Whatever happens outside will also happen inside. We will also speak in Delhi about our demands.”

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said, “We all want peace… Very soon portfolios will be distributed to the newly inducted ministers.”

Asaduddin Owaisi and AIMM are new BJP allies .... albeit indirectly .... in a veiled manner ...

In UP, the AIMIM is keen to contest Sambhal, Moradabad, Amroha, Bijnor, Saharanpur, Kanpur and Jaunpur.

If he takes #Muslim votes .....

Hyderabad lawmaker Owaisi's AIMIM may upset INDI alliance -- AIMIM also set to contest in seven seats in Bihar and in key segments in Mumbai

The Congress and Samajwadi Party, part of the INDIA alliance, are contesting together in UP, while Tejashwi Yadav's RJD and the grand old party will be contesting in Bihar.

Indirectly, this may help Narendra Modi's much ambitious 400 plus Mission for the NDA.

Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM may upset the INDI alliance's calculations as it has decided to field candidates on multiple seats in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Maharashtra.

The AIMIM is planning to contest on as many as 20 seats in Uttar Pradesh where Samajwadi and Congress will be facing BJP in their do or die battle. Asaduddin Owaisi's party also wanted to contest as many as seven seats in Bihar.

The Congress and Samajwadi Party, part of the INDIA alliance, are contesting together in UP, while Tejashwi Yadav's RJD and the grand old party will be contesting in Bihar. It is believed that the AIMIM's entry may cut Muslim votes, that would otherwise go to the INDIA alliance. UP and Bihar together send 120 MPs.

In Maharashtra, the third largest in terms of Lok Sabha seats, the AIMIM is likely to field its candidates in Mumbai and the Marathwada region.

Owaisi said his party will fight in Hyderabad (Telangana), Aurangabad (Maharashtra) and Kishanganj seat in Bihar for sure.

He said the party's Bihar unit wants to fight on more seats. "In UP too, there are similar demands. In Maharashtra, there is a call to fight from Mumbai and Marathwada. We will soon decide how many seats we are going to fight."

AIMIM's Bihar spokesperson Adil Hasan said that apart from Kishanganj, the party wishes to contest in Katihar, Purnea, Araria, Darbhanga, Madhubani, and Gaya, and is in talks with the BSP for an alliance, according to IE. He said the list had been sent to the party chief. "He will take a call. We want to have an alliance with the BSP."

In Uttar Pradesh, AIMIM spokesperson Shaukat Ali said the state unit has made a proposal to contest 20 seats and sent it to Owaisi.

In UP, the party wants to contest from Sambhal, Moradabad, Amroha, Bijnor, Saharanpur, Kanpur and Jaunpur.

Interestingly, barring Kanpur, all seats had gone to the BSP-SP alliance in the last general election. The Samajwadi Party had bagged Sambhal and Moradabad, while Mayawatri's BSP won Amroha, Bijnor, Saharanpur, and Jaunpur. This time, BSP has decided to contest solo.

In the 2020 Bihar assembly elections, Owaisi's AIMIM won five seats in the Seemanchal region. However, the RJD later inducted 4 of 5 MLAs - a move that upset Owaisi.
