First phase voting - April 19


LS polls: Voting for 89 seats across 13 states/UTs in 2nd phase on April 26: EC

Third phase on 7th May, fourth phase on 13th May, fifth phase on 20th May, sixth phase on 25th May and the seventh phase on 1st June:

In Odisha, first phase of voting will be on May 13, second phase on May 20, third phase on May 25, and fourth phase on June 1," 


Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar says "We are committed to give the nation a truly festive, democratic environment. The term of the 17th Lok Sabha is due to expire on 16th June 2024. 


The terms of the Legislative Assemblies of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim are also due to expire in June 2024. Elections are due in Jammu and Kashmir..."


Rajiv Kumar says, "There is no place for bloodbath and violence in the elections...From wherever we will receive the information of violence, we will take action against them..."

Total electors include 49.7 crore males, 47.1 crore females, 48,000 transgenders; 1.8 crore first-time voters added to list: EC


Our electoral roll includes 82 lakh voters of over 85 years of age, 2.18 lakh centenarians: CEC Rajiv Kumar  


"In 12 states the ratio of women voters is higher than men voters."  

"Ready to facilitate vote from home for electors above 85 years of age and for persons with disabilities across country". 

"We are ready to visit homes of voters of above 85 years to register their votes. Ahead of nominations, we will provide Form 12D to all such voters," says Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar.  


"We have 1.8 crore first-time voters and 19.47 crore voters between the age group of 20-29 years..."





Odisha assembly elections in seven phases: EC


"We will do Lok Sabha polls  in seven phases as was done last time. The phase 1 will start from March 20 - notification. Last date of withdrawal is March 30, and the date of poll would be April 19. The counting would be held on June 4,"
