In pursuance of the decision taken in Cabinet meeting held on 17th February,2026, the Governor of Manipur Ajay Bhalla has appointed Shri L. Nishikanta Singh, Lt. General (Retd.) as Advisor (Coordination) to the Chief Minister, Manipur for a period of one year.
The order comes into effect with immediate effect in public interest.
The terms and conditions of his service including honorarium, entitlements, etc. will be issued separately in consultation/concurrence with Finance Department (PIC), Government of Manipur, an official source said.
Earlier this month Y Khemchand led ministry was installed in Manipur which was under President's Rule for less than a year since Feb 13, 2025.
