Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren resigns. Behind the 'success' of every man..... yes, the usual story :::: But; Two letters of support ready if Hemant Soren arrested

Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren resigns. Ruling alliance elects Transport Minister Champai Soren as JMM legislative party leader, says Cong Chief Rajesh Thakur

Soren is being questioned as part of a probe into a "huge racket of illegal change of land ownership by the mafia" in Jharkhand, according to ED officials.

The questioning which started at 1.20 pm was continuing at the time of writing this.
Meanwhile, a curfew under Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed within a 100-metre radius of the Jharkhand CM's residence, Raj Bhavan and, the office of the ED in the state capital, Ranchi.

It is said, Two letters of support ready if Jharkhad Chief Minister Hemant Soren is arrested.

According to sources, Hemant Soren secured signatures from JMM MLAs on two blank papers, with the first document in support of his wife Kalpana Soren.

The second paper backs senior party leader Champai Soren. Now,  there’s also a third element and that's called "hitch".

Not all party MLAs were present at the meeting. Seven JMM MLAs were notably absent from the gathering, raising questions about a possible break within the party ranks.

Meanwhile, Basant Soren — Hemant Soren's younger brother — and Sita Soren, the Chief Minister's sister-in-law, are said to have the backing of 18 JMM MLAs. Party patriarch Shibu Soren is also reported to support Basant Soren's claim.

The current strength of the ruling alliance in the state legislature stands at 49 members. This includes 29 from JMM, 16 from the Congress, one from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), one from the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation (CPI(ML)L), and one from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

This development comes as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrived at the Jharkhand Chief Minister's home for questioning in a money laundering probe linked to a land fraud case. Soren, who is also the executive president of the ruling JMM, had earlier been questioned in connection with the case on January 20.

In an email to the ED on Sunday, CM Hemant Soren had alleged that its actions were "motivated by political agenda" to disrupt the state government's functioning, and claimed that the insistence to record his statement again on or before January 31 "reeked of malice". The probe agency has seized Rs 36 lakh, two BMWs and some "incriminating" documents during search operations at his house in Delhi on Monday.
