God Ram inspired and Ram temple-centric politics on cards : Modi also becomes first PM to visit Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made history as he became the first PM to visit Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura, the sacred birthplace of Bhagwan Krishna.

He actively participated in the 'Braj Raj Utsav' and also graced the 'Mirabai Janmotsav,' a special event organized to celebrate the 525th birth anniversary of the renowned mystic poet and devoted follower of Lord Krishna, Mirabai. During the Mirabai Janmotsav, the Prime Minister had the opportunity to witness a presentation by BJP MP and accomplished actor Hema Malini. Furthermore, he was involved in the release of a commemorative stamp and coin dedicated to honouring the 15th-century poet.

As part of the visit, the Prime Minister attended a cultural program marking the initiation of year-long programs in memory of Mirabai. The festivities encompassed various cultural activities and celebrations in honour of the mystic poet. At the ‘Sant Mirabai Janmotsav’ programme, PM Modi said, "Braj has a unique relation with Gujarat.

The Kanha of Mathura became Dwarkadheesh after going to Gujarat... Sant Mira Bai who came to Mathura from Rajasthan, spent her last moments in Dwarka... Sant Mira's worship is incomplete without Vrindavan..."

"I am fortunate that I got the opportunity to have a 'darshan' of 'Braj' because only those come here who are called by 'Shri Krishna and Shriji'," said PM Modi.

"'Bharat' has always been a country that worships women. They have not only assumed responsibilities but also guided the society, and Sant Meera Bai is an example of this," he added.

In addition to these events, Modi also visited the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Banke Bihari Temple, where he offered prayers, further emphasizing the cultural and religious significance of his visit to Mathura. Modi also released a commemorative stamp and coin, paying homage to Mirabai, and participated in a cultural program organized for the occasion. This event symbolized the commencement of year-long programs dedicated to her memory.

A comprehensive security arrangement has been implemented, dividing the city into 8 zones and 32 sectors. The Prime Minister is set to make a historic visit to the birthplace of Bhagwan Krishna, marking his return after 32 years.

The agenda includes a 5-minute documentary on Mirabai and a dance drama featuring Mathura MP Hema Malini. During the visit, PM Modi unveiled a postal stamp and a coin of Rs 525 dedicated to Mirabai.

The Brajraj festival venue has seating arrangements for 5,000 people. The event witnessed the presence of UP Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and both Deputy Chief Ministers.

The Prime Minister’s visit comes two days after the Allahabad High Court, in a significant development, granted approval to the construction plan for the Banke Bihari Temple corridor.
