"Sheikh Shahjahan is no ordinary criminal. In 2019, he and his men, most of them illegal Rohingyas from Bangladesh, killed BJP workers Sukanta Mandal and Pradip Mandal… Their bodies were riddled with bullet, using sophisticated firearms, and chopped into several pieces.
Shahjahan had then escaped across the border, while Mamata Banerjee’s police remained a mute spectator. But he is now, clearly, on borrowed time," tweets BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya.
The Liberals are silent.
Of course, Congress floor leader in Lok Sabha and West Bengal chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has demanded imposition of President's Rule. But who cares in the grand old party and the romantically hyped alliance .... I.N.D.I alliance ?
Where is vocal TMC leader Derek-O-Brien and his 3200 other signatories who 'dissociated' even from a Christmas luncheon at PM's official residence?
Politics can go too far... and more so in West Bengal; wherein the communists - the self styled conscience keepers ruled the roost once. Do you remember their poetry on post-Godhra Gujarat mayhem?
"A palatial four-home cluster belonging to TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan and his three brothers was locked and abandoned on Saturday, shattered glass from Enforcement Directorate vehicles the only reminder of the chaos that ensued in West Bengal’s Sandeshkhali village a day earlier.
On Friday, when an ED team went to conduct searches at Shahjahan’s home in North 24 Parganas district, in connection with an alleged ration scam case, they were attacked by a mob of hundreds, who also manhandled accompanying CRPF personnel. The agency said three of its officers sustained serious injuries. Speaking to The Indian Express, locals recounted how it took just 30 minutes for almost 1,000 loyalists to gather near the home of the TMC leader."
Welcome to Didi's land?
“As they failed to get any response, two jawans tried to break open a collapsible gate. A small crowd had already started to gather nearby, but this grew to nearly a thousand people within the next 30 minutes, many from nearby villages,” he said. “Had there been an attempt to arrest bhai (Shahjahan) yesterday, there could have been blood and mayhem. He’s not just a political leader; he’s the final word here, he employs thousands", reports 'Indian Express'.

A team of ED and journalists, under the protection of CRPF, faced a violent mob while trying to conduct searches related to the PDS scam. The team’s destination was the home and offices of TMC’s leader Shahjahan Sheikh. Reports state that the leader instigated a paid mob to attack the team to dissuade them from acting against him.
As per reports, the paid mob was in possession of sticks and stones. Although the weapons do not ring alarm bells, the high number of people in the mob and their murderous intent were enough to cause serious damage. As a result of the attack, the ED officials were admitted for injuries to the nearest hospital.
The mob attack damaged the ED vehicle, and injured 3 officials and a News18 Bangla journalist! Adding insult to injury, the mob stole their mobile phones, laptops, wallets, and all personal belongings as well, say reports from various media outlets.
