It's personal, yet political::: 'Remember what you did with Ghulam Nabi Azad, Sitaram Kesri....why Rahul, Sonia missed Bharat Ratna function for Pranab

In short the story is Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should be careful when he throws stones on others --- as he himself sits in a glass house and several skeletons could be brought out!!

Three BJP leaders Col Rajyavardhan Rathore (Retd.), Parvesh Sahib Singh and Poonam Mahajan wrote a letter to Rahul Gandhi criticising the party and Rahul Gandhi's individual action in the light of 'Mohabbat ki Dukan' (a Love-shop) row.

"Sitaram Kesri became the Congress president, outside the Gandhi-Nehru family, like Mallikarjun Kharge today is. And Congress's 'mohabbat' with him is mind-boggling. In 1998, he was locked up in the bathroom...even you did not spare Pranab Mukherjee who widened the path for Sonia Gandhi to be the party president. When Pranab Mukherjee was awarded Bharat Ratna in 2019, neither you nor Sonia Gandhi was present," the letter read.

Union minister Smriti Irani, who defeated Rahul Gandhi in Amethi in 2019 Lok Sabha polls, on Thursday hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his ‘Mohabbat Ki Dukan’ remark, which was mentioned during Bharat Jodo Yatra and after Karnataka election results.

“When you talk about 'Mohabbat', does that include the killing of Sikhs? When you talk about 'Mohabbat', does that include the kidnapping of women in Rajasthan? When you talk about 'Mohabbat', does that include denouncing the Hindu way of life? When you talk about 'Mohabbat', does it mean partnering with those who want to bring India to a standstill?” the minister said.

"When you talk about 'Mohabbat', does that 'Mohabbat' compel you to go seek outside intervention against your own democracy. Ye kaisa ishq hai jo desh se nahi apni political siyasat se hai?" (What kind of love is this....the love is not with the country but with the political brinkmanship)" she said.

Accusing the Congress leader of insulting the country in the United States where Rahul Gandhi has been touring, the three BJP leaders cited political instances of 'Congress's hatred'. "Even what significance 'mohabbat' holds to you can be seen in your personal relationships.

Your brother Varun Gandhi invited you and your mother Sonia Gandhi. Do you remember that neither you nor your mother attended the wedding for the sake of the 'mohabbat ke rishton. But Varun Gandhi attended Priyanka Gandhi's wedding,"

"The maximum number of 'nafrat ki dukan' was during the Congress time; the highest number of riots took place in your time. The way your family treated your party members, other family members show what 'mobahhat ke dukan' you speak about," the letter said.

"Rahul Ji, when you speak of Mohabbat ki dukan, the Emergency imposed by your grandmother flashes in front of our eyes making your 'mohabbat' a comedy...Nehru ji imprisoned poet Majrooh Sultanpuri for no reason..." it said.

Referring to former PM Rajiv Gandhi's speech on November 19, 1984, the BJP leaders said, "Just think, at your father's 'mohabbat ki dukan', not even two words were spent for the Sikhs  who suffered in the 1984 riots. And Jagdish Tytler is still very close to your family."

"It is not a big thing for the Congress to insult senior leaders. Remember what you did with Ghulam Nabi Azad. He just showed your party a mirror through G-23," it said.
