Little difference between Confusion and Over Smartness !! As Modi displayed bonhomie with Xi Jinping & Putin; there was heart-burns and even nervousness in US ::: American embassy speaks about "enduring friendship"

The US embassy in New Delhi gave a surprise and rather a self-defeating post on Twitter/X :

“The partnership between the United States and India continues to reach new heights — a defining relationship of the 21st century.

This month, we’re spotlighting the people, progress, and possibilities driving us forward.”

A,B,C : Courage, Break and Ability : Three stars redefining international polity

Was this a joke ? And then; it's hardly in very good taste. Worse part is the timing !!

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi displayed bonhomie with Chinese and Russian presidents Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin at the SCO Summit in China, there was heart-burns and perhaps even nervousness in the United States.

On Monday, the US embassy in India parallelly gave a surprise shoutout to its partnership with India, saying -

“From innovation and entrepreneurship to defense and bilateral ties, it’s the enduring friendship between our two peoples that fuels this journey".

It also urged social media/micro blogging site users to follow the hashtag #USIndiaFWDforOurPeople and be a part of the campaign.

This 'enduring friendship' claim does not seem to work or appear a bit convincing because the same day US President Donald Trump makes yet another unsubstantiated and 'baseless' claims that India has offered to bring down tariffs to zero.

Trump's apparent reference to the stalled talks between India and the US for a trade deal — and India's alleged offer to cut duties did not yield a response from the Modi government immediately.

Trump's claim comes barely a week after the American treasury secretary, Scott Bessent, flagged the slow pace of the trade deal talks despite an early start in April. Bessent listed this, along with India's oil purchase from Russia, among reasons for the tariffs as “penalty”.

The Modi Govt has been persistently questioning the US logic and pushing back on certain red lines in the trade talks, such as protecting India's farmers from an influx of US produce.

PM Modi said he will stand as 'wall (deewar)' to protect the interest of Indian farmers.
