WHO IS NEW GOA GOVERNOR?

Born into the royal Pusapati family of Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh, Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju is a senior leader in the Telugu Desam Party. A seven-time MLA, he has held office at both the state and national levels.

After winning the Vizianagaram Lok Sabha seat in 2014, Raju served as Union Minister of Civil Aviation for nearly four years in the first Modi cabinet. He eventually resigned over a dispute regarding Andhra Pradesh’s special status.
