"Pakistan’s continued escalation along the western front through drone incursions and munitions is a matter of grave concern.

"Today (May 10th) at approximately 0500 hrs, multiple armed enemy drones were detected over Khasa Cantt, Amritsar.

"Our air defence units responded swiftly, intercepting and neutralising all hostile UAVs.

This blatant attempt to violate India’s sovereignty and endanger civilian lives is unacceptable," the Ministry of Defence said in New Delhi.

India-Pakistan Military Conflict: Major General (Retd) Dhruv Katoch says,

"I see this as a positive escalation, over the next 2-3 days, we will see how the situation plays out, if control is not exercised now, it can escalate to any levels, a time comes when despite best efforts, escalation cannot be controlled, violence has its own take. So as of now, I would like to give it for two days or so, and then see what happens."

(Pakistan has its own problems; petrol pumps in Islamabad shut for next 48 hours - that is two days - from May 10th.)

Reports from various parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab say houses in the civilian areas suffered massive damage due to heavy shelling by Pakistan.

Jammu experienced such things for quite sometime.

Debris of weapon was found in Jaisalmer district in Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, news reports of 'destruction' or any damage to an S-400 system being made by Pakistan are baseless and is "fake news", said sources in the Government.

Police and other agencies retrieve the debris from a projectile and take it for further investigation in Punjab's Amritsar.

In Jammu and Kashmir, local man told reporters: "This drone was neutralised in the air by the Indian Army. The drone had flown above Gurudwara Kotli Arjan Singh. Had it not been neutralised, the gurdwara might have suffered damage. But with God's grace, the gurdwara is safe. Indian Army is giving a fitting reply to all the attacks of Pakistan...We stand shoulder to shoulder with the Army, whenever it is needed we will be with them...".

In Jammu, owner of a drone-hit house, Mrs Indira Parihar said : "This happened at 6.03 am. I don't know what fell on my terrace but it fell inside the house and filled it with smoke. We somehow opened the doors and rushed out. It was just my daughter and I in the house, and all of us are safe. The house has suffered damage...Loud explosions were occurring..."

In Punjab, parts of a missile found in a field in a village in Jalandhar Rural.

Police officials have reached the spot. Several houses in Kupwara damaged as Pakistan targeted civilian areas.
