Welcome to next stage of tech era :: ChatGPT “opens" floodgates to many creative works; Gemini is not far behind

Since its debut last year, ChatGPT has been adopted by companies for a wide range of tasks from summarizing documents to writing computer code, setting off a race among big tech companies to launch their own offerings based on generative AI.

"Google has imminent plans to launch its answer to ChatGPT, called Gemini, which is reportedly already being tested by a small group of companies," reported London's popular newspaper 'The Guardian'.

However, ChatGPT is trained on the internet data and is bound to represent the same bias and inaccuracy that the internet is filled with, experts say.

ChatGPT update will give it a voice and allow users to interact using images

The move will bring the artificial intelligence chatbot closer to popular voice assistants such as Apple’s Siri and Amazon’s Alexa.

The media and tech market talk is that Google is preparing to launch its answer to rival OpenAI's GPT-4: Gemini.

Gemini is a next-gen, multimodal AI model due for release later this year.

Amazon, for its part, announced on Monday it would be investing up to $4bn in the AI startup Anthropic to provide support and boost the e-commerce company’s generative AI efforts.

ChatGPT’s new voice feature can also narrate bedtime stories, settle debates at the dinner table and speak out loud text input from users. The technology behind it is being used by Spotify for the platform’s podcasters to translate their content into different languages, OpenAI said.

With image support, users can take pictures of things around them and ask the chatbot to “troubleshoot why your grill won’t start, explore the contents of your fridge to plan a meal, or analyze a complex graph for work-related data”.

Alphabet’s Google Lens is currently the popular choice to gain information about images.

If all the hype is to be believed, ChatGPT has the potential to revolutionize the way you interact with customers and automate certain tasks.

But, as with any new technology, there are risks and also opportunities. This 'new tool' can be used to drive growth and efficiency in any organization !

ChatGPT is a large language model developed by OpenAI that can generate human-like text in a conversational context and carry out simple tasks. It is based on GPT-3, which is the latest version of GPT models and known for its ability to generate text that is almost indistinguishable from human-written text. ChatGPT is designed to generate natural language responses when given input from a user, making it potentially useful in a variety of business applications. For example, it can be used to answer questions, generate text and even code, and compose emails and essays.

It’s like having your personal genie in a digital bottle, always ready to offer a helping hand.

Google's Gemini is a multimodal AI, meaning it can process more than one type of data.

The model is expected to be able to process images and text, allowing for features such as written analysis of visual graphs, The Information reported. The tech giant is also upping the tech's code-generating abilities to try and take on Microsoft's GitHub Copilot, which is powered by OpenAI.

Google said in a blog post that once testing and fine-tuning had been completed, the model would be available in various sizes and capabilities.

Hurdles and Limitations:

Since the release of ChatGPT, people have been trying to use it in various sectors like healthcare, education, or legal systems. Though one can find various use cases for the chatbot, the expectations from it are ever-increasing.

The trend of banning the chatbot in fields of education is rising and healthcare experts are also questioning if it is ethical to use it.

The chatbot has been trained on GPT-3.5 and is fed with billions of parameters and data. But, as soon as you ask it something recent, the chatbot blurts out, “I’m sorry, but I am a conversational bot trained on large volumes of texts and cannot give information about current events”.

The lack of connection to the internet is one of the biggest challenges for the chatbot as it cannot fetch new information. This is explicitly told by OpenAI that it is trained on data till 2021 and thus does not have information beyond that and can be occasionally incorrect.

Experts and analysts say -- Gemini’s ability to scale better than ChatGPT may make it more appropriate for use in large-scale applications. Governments, healthcare providers, and other organizations who need to manage vast amounts of data may find Gemini to be a more beneficial tool as a result.

Gemini will employ reinforcement learning, a method that enables software to gain knowledge through error and receive evaluations on its performance. This might make Gemini better equipped to plan and solve issues than ChatGPT, which is trained on a huge dataset of text and code.

Gemini will be able to interact with computers and the internet more autonomously than ChatGPT, which is only capable of responding to text inputs from people. Gemini might become more adaptable and valuable in a wider range of applications as a result. Gemini will be able to produce these types of texts more correctly and artistically than ChatGPT, including poems, code, screenplays, musical compositions, emails, and letters. Gemini might become a more useful tool as a result for authors, painters, and other creative workers.

Gemini will have improved problem-solving skills as a result of using reinforcement learning and being able to connect with computers and the internet more independently. Gemini might become a more useful tool as a result for companies and other organizations that must address challenging problems, according to analyticsinsight.net.
