"Uudta Fauz" ... a growing reality :::: Mt Horeb of NSCN - IM (Eastern Flank) attacked with Drones :::: Defence preparedness also means Drones are now being used abundantly and officers and personnel are given training

In quite a significant development the Eastern Konyak Union (EKU) has urged the Naga national workers to listen to the "voice" of the public, restrain from attacks and firing, and settle peace and stability in civilian areas.

It called on Naga leaders to understand the conditions of their people and the trauma faced by innocent citizens in the name of Naga rights.

From a 'big picture'; security and defence preparedness point of view ---

• Drones provide real-time, high-definition data on enemy movements, topography, and border activities without risking human lives.

Moreover, unmanned systems identify precise enemy coordinates, significantly increasing the accuracy of artillery and missile strikes.

The EKU appealed to Naga national workers to cease all forms of attacks and confrontations with any government and to conduct any unrelated activities in barren areas where no civilians reside, warning that innocent lives are being devastated by Indian and Myanmar forces as well as factional crises.

In the meantime On Oct 11, in the early hours of Sunday morning at around 02:30AM, drones rained down bombs on Mt. Horeb Camp.

The attack continued till 04:30AM, reports reaching here claimed.

Another version claimed some attacks were reported as late as 0700 hours too.

The Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim, Provisional Government, Mt. Horeb informed that “it was a divine intervention that no one was hurt.

We could fill the ground shaking as the bombs exploded one after the other.

"Some of them exploded in the air, some on the trees. Some parts of our camp were destroyed by the bombs. Around 60 bombs exploded, some bombs were dropped from the sky and some directly hit the camp along with the drones”.

The Provisional Government, Mt. Horeb alleged that it could be “a handiwork of India waging a proxy war.

But this has to be investigated”.

The Provisional Government, Mt. Horeb has appealed for prayers to the people of Nagalim.

The Naga Self-Administered Zone is administered by the Leading Body of the Naga Self-Administered Zone (LBNSAZ), which consists of at least ten members and includes Sagaing Region Assembly members elected from the Zone and members nominated by the Armed Forces. The Leading Body performs both executive and legislative functions

Earlier this month the National Socialist Council of Nagaland  (NSCN/GPRN – Yung Aung faction) and affiliated regional bodies condemned an alleged drone strike on October 3, 2026, targeting Langkho Village in the Naga Self-Administered Zone (Sagaing Region) inside Myanmar.

In a press release, EKU President P. M Aman and General Secretary K Akham Honwang (as reported in a section of local press) stated that the public has no enmity with any group or government, stating that the principle of the military is to protect and save civilian lives.

The union pointed out that security forces should examine and distinguish between armed cadres and civilian life. It stated that while the public cannot control armed battle, dropping bombs constantly on civilian villages is a cowardly act.

According to the EKU, the public has been traumatised by several combat drone attacks carried out by the Indian government.

It stated that on July 13, 2025, a drone attack was carried out in the Hoyat field area near the village during dark hours, causing illnesses due to the release of poisonous substances and rendering the spot uncultivable.

Of course, from Indian army's security point of view and military preparedness; Drones are now being used abundantly and officers and personnel are being given training too.  I interacted with a few of them in a chance meeting in eastern sector in 2025.

From his earliest days of college, 32-year-old Brajen Joshi carried a yearning for giving unto himself a distinguished identity.

Brajen (of course - the name is changed) -- said: - "I was born to a family of agriculturists .... I am not anti-agriculture. But science excited me. But farming is my roots, I realised this one night when I reached north east of India as a soldier....

"Today, I am handling Drones in Indian army. I like the growing concept of Uudta Fauz. It has changed me," remarked Joshi while jogging fast with coffee coloured mud on his feet and shoes.

(In July 2025, Lt Gen Abhijeet S Pendharkar, then GoC of Rangapahar-based Spear Corps, observed “Exercise Drone Prahar”—a crucial and high-level military drill.)

I was also briefed a bit about "modernization" process of Indian forces and how these are supported by

-- Focused approached for Indigenous development

-- Policy initiatives - the Drone Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme
- and Integration of Artificial Intelligence and Swarm drone technology into tactical operations.

One source had alerted me about Rudra Brigades and Drone batteries.
