Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka & Saurav Das released on bail for Surety Bond and 'asked to maintain good behaviour' for a year ::: Supreme Court commences hearing

The Supreme Court commenced on Sunday hearing on a batch of pleas over the government crackdown on protesters protesting in Delhi on October 10. 


Meanwhile, Preventive arrest u/s 126/170 BNSS of Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das was done on Oct 10.


"All due legal procedures were followed, and they were produced before the SEM Court, Delhi Cantt today. 

A bail bond as Surety Bond of Rs 50,000 was filled for maintaining peace and good behaviour for a period of one year, and they were released by the SEM Court," -- Delhi Police.







A bench of Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V. Mohana is hearing the pleas against detentions by the Delhi police and paramilitary forces of protesters and a contempt plea over allegedly wilfully disobeying orders.  The Court has agreed to hear all the lawyers who wish to make mention of their respective pleas on protest cases. 


“Two matters are before us. There are lawyers who wish to make an unlisted mention of pleas filed. What we purpose to do is to go from right to left (in the Bar) and give an opportunity to hear every party”, the Court said. 


When counsels thanked SC for holding a special hearing on these issues, Justice Bagchi said “No need to thank us. We are always at the service of the nation”. 


Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal begins submissions on a plea against detention and the order of imposition of Section 163.
