Former army chief Gen M M Naravane.
He also served in Nagaland.
'Naga hospitality' is like inherent or inbuilt Software.
We Indians loving it !!!! :::: But Pakistan experience vis-a-vis Operation Sindoor offers lesson to North East Insurgents --- do not trust Chinese hardware.
You learnt it fast ... it is better
To start with a 'realisation' has dawned on some hawkish military and civil officials in Delhi that some 'lessons' ought to be drawn for the northeast region from Operation Sindoor especially an 'unlike Hindu' by aggressiveness displayed by Indian armed forces.
A refrain is also developing that the Terrorist camps in Myanmar should also be destroyed.
As of now, inputs from different sources say some dreaded and perceived to be potent armed groups - ULFA led by Paresh Barua, NSCN-IM (especially those outside Nagaland and more so outside India), Naga (Mulatonou) group and a few Kuki and Meitei banned groups need to be taught a lesson.
But these are extremely early days. Like Dr Manmohan Singh used to often say -- if wishes had sources ....
Well the success of Operation Sindoor has floated a new refrain -- 'if neo-wishes had Brahmos'.
Reports are being collected.
Some could be correct, others need not as some militant groups also show tendency to keep moving. In journalism term - they can be called Roving Militants. Some of this story is also well hyped.
Sources say Paresh Barua is in Ruili in China.
While it is not at all advisable even to think about any misadventures in and around Beijing's reins.
Argument is being floated that Paresh Baruah's "men and also a few women cadres" are in some camps opposite Arunanachal Pradesh.
NSCN- IM leaders Pamshin Muivah and Phungthing Shimray are also reportedly in Ruili hideouts in China.
Moreover, some NSCN-IM cadres of both Hangshi Ramson Tangkhul and Anthony Shimray arealso in camps in Myanmar opposite Nagaland.
From Manipur, Meitei groups are reportedly in camps in Southern Sagaing division opposite Manipur.
So the ball (read Brahmos) is in the court of New Delhi !!
There are others also talking on these lines. A few are strategic experts from the civilian academia and a quickly discredited industry called the Media.
A few others are retired army officers who have served in the north east at various staged of their life.
The words of wisdom revolve few takes ways --
* Any War is costly affair - both in terms of lives as well as dollars.
Hence, the suggestion so far has been that following strategy appears to be the best:-
-- Be ready for all fronts.
- Re-count the fronts may be in order of less priorities etc
- Now comes the vital part
The government, the Union Home and Defence Ministries have to "choose" - which front they want to engage with diplomacy including the peace talks, and which front they want to engage with military.
There is need to assess whether one would require any *Merciless Approach* as the term is used loosely.
A few experts also say there has to be something called 'Half front' in the context of north east state.
Ensure there is a "Re-evaluation" of India's neighbours -- their weaknesses and strengths.
Former army chief Gen M M Naravane has said --
"War is not a romantic or a Bollywood movie. It is a very serious expensive and the last resort".
