"Pak military actions on May 9th night ... conveys clearly that they stand with terrorists," says Vinay Kwatra, India's ambassador to US

Mudassar Khadian Khas, Hafiz Muhammed Jameel, Mohammad Yusuf Azhar, Khalid (Abu Akasha) and Mohammad Hassan Khan were eliminated in Operation Sindoor.

Vinay Kwatra, India's ambassador to US, in a video message has said that :

"Yesterday (May 9th) was Pakistan did actually conveys a very clear signal to all of us and to the rest of the world that they actually stand with the terrorists...not with the rest of the civilised world".

(Govt today advised all media channels to refrain from using  Civil Defence Air Raid siren sounds in their programmes  other than community awareness drive.

"The routine use of the sirens may likely to reduce the sensitivity of civlian towards  the Air raid sirens.)

"So when they did yesterday small actions to engage our military; we carried out proportionate response to that," he said.

Earlier in the day, during the Govt briefing on the conflict and military operations, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said:

"...Pakistan Army has been observed to be moving its troops towards forward areas, indicating an offensive intent to further escalation.

Indian armed forces remain in a high state of operational readiness, and all hostile actions have been effectively countered and responded proportionately. Indian armed forces reiterated their commitment to non-escalation, provided the Pakistan side reciprocates."

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi told the media conference:

"After Pakistan deliberately targeted air bases, Indian armed forces took a quick and well-planned retaliatory action and targeted technical installations, command & control centres, radar sites and arms store.

Pakistan military bases at Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur and Chunian were targeted through air launch, precision ammunition and fighter jets.

Radar site in Pasrur and aviation base in Sialkot were also targeted with precision ammunition, she said.

In the afternoon on Saturday, PM Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting with military chiefs.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was also called.

India launched precision strikes overnight
... on four key Pakistani airbases

- Chaklala in Rawalpindi, Murid in Chakwal, and Rafiqui in Shorkot - causing heavy damage to military infrastructure and assets.

The operation followed a series of drone attacks from Pakistan across the border.

In retaliation, India also hit terror launch pads and military posts in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir’s Neelam Valley and Sialkot, which were being used to deploy tube-launched drones targeting Indian positions in Jammu, according to defence sources.

Meanwhile, Pakistan fired a long-range missile aimed at a strategic Indian site. The missile was intercepted and destroyed by Indian Air Defence Systems in the Western Sector.

New Delhi on Saturday said the Pakistani officials were making “lame attempts” to “divide India” by claiming that Indian missiles were being fired at Shri Amritsar Sahib.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that Pakistani officials were continuing to make “ludicrous” claims about India firing missiles towards religious sites.

"Pakistani officials continue to make ludicrous claims about India firing missiles towards Shri Amritsar Sahib. As I said, these lame attempts to divide India are doomed to failure," he said.

He also said it was a "totally frivolous allegation" that Indian missiles have hit Afghanistan.

"I only want to point out that Afghan people don't need to be reminded about which country it is, that has on multiple occasions, in just the last one and a half years targeted civilian populations and civilian infrastructure in Afghanistan," he said.

'India Today' reports ---

These terrorists who were eliminated were some of the most high-profile figures within Pakistan-based terror outfits, with strong links to both Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Mudassar Khadian Khas

A senior Lashkar-e-Taiba operative, Mudassar, also known as Mudassar or Abu Jundal, was in charge of Markaz Taiba in Muridke, the terrorist outfit's headquarters. He was given a guard of honour by the Pakistan Army, and wreaths were laid on behalf of Army Chief General Asim Munir and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The funeral prayer, led by Hafiz Abdul Rauf, a designated global terrorist, was held at a government school and attended by a serving Lieutenant General of the Pakistan Army and the Inspector General of Punjab Police.

Hafiz Muhammed Jameel

Affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hafiz Muhammed Jameel was the eldest brother-in-law of JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar. He headed the Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur and was deeply involved in radical indoctrination efforts and fundraising activities for the group. His role in shaping the ideological foundation of young recruits made him a critical asset to JeM.

Mohammad Yusuf Azhar

Another brother-in-law of Masood Azhar, Yusuf Azhar, also also known as Ustad Ji, Mohd Salim or Ghosi Sahab, played an important role in Jaish-e-Mohammed’s operations. He was responsible for weapons training and was actively involved in numerous terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. He was also wanted in connection with the IC-814 Indian Airlines hijacking case, which led to the release of Masood Azhar in 1999.

Khalid alias Abu Akasha

A Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, Khalid had a long history of involvement in terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir. He was also engaged in weapons smuggling operations from Afghanistan. His funeral in Faisalabad was reportedly attended by senior officials of the Pakistan Army and the Deputy Commissioner of the district.
