Now ... the North East !! ::: In a major operation based on tip off, as many as 10 armed militants killed in Chandel district of Manipur

Operation Underway ::: 10 Militants Killed In Manipur 

Acting on specific intelligence on movement of armed cadres nearby New Samtal village, Khengjoy Tehsil in Chandel istrict of Manipur, the Assam Rifles launched an operation on May 14, 2025 and executed as many as 10 cadres.

The operation took place near the Indo-Myanmar Border and it carried out by the Assam Rifles whose operational management lies with Spear Corps.

"During the operation, the troops were fired upon by suspected cadres to which they quickly reacted, redeployed and retaliated in a calibrated and measured manner. In the ensuing firefight 10 cadres were neutralized and a sizeable quantity of arms and ammunition have been recovered," a source said. 

Operation is still in progress, it added.  

Chandel district is one of the 16 districts of Manipur state in northeastern India. 

Its headquarters is the town of Chandel. 

In December 2016, a part of the district was split to establish the new Tengnoupal district. The district is mainly populated by Kuki-Zo and Old Kuki/Naga tribal people.
