Following 'Operation Sindoor' that left Pakistan rattled and three headquarters of terror hubs were destroyed and many terrorists killed, Pakistani National Security Advisor and ISI chief Asim Malik sought to initiate communication with the Indian side.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made it clear that New Delhi's "terms" should be put on the table firmly.

"India and Pakistan have today worked out an understanding on stoppage of firing and military action. India has consistently maintained a firm and uncompromising stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. It will continue to do so," External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar.

India and Pakistan reached an understanding after the Pakistan side reached out to India. There are no pre-conditions and post-conditions.

Indus Water Treaty remains in abeyance. And all other measures remain suspended. India's position on Terrorism remains the same: Sources

On the India-Pakistan ceasefire agreement, BJP leader Ravinder Raina in Jammu and Kashmir :

"The Indian army has made Pakistan pay for every nefarious act. India has answered Pakistan's insolence in Pahalgam. Pakistan has fallen to its knees and is crawling at the feet of America and PM Modi... The whole world salutes PM Modi... Pakistan is lucky that a ceasefire has been announced. Otherwise, it would have been wiped off the world map and crushed to dust."

Mudassar Khadian Khas, Hafiz Muhammed Jameel, Mohammad Yusuf Azhar, Khalid (Abu Akasha) and Mohammad Hassan Khan were eliminated in Operation Sindoor.

Number of big terrorists killed

three terror hubs destroyed

Do not belittle Soldiers

These terrorists who were eliminated were some of the most high-profile figures within Pakistan-based terror outfits, with strong links to both Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Mudassar Khadian Khas

A senior Lashkar-e-Taiba operative, Mudassar, also known as Mudassar or Abu Jundal, was in charge of Markaz Taiba in Muridke, the terrorist outfit's headquarters. He was given a guard of honour by the Pakistan Army, and wreaths were laid on behalf of Army Chief General Asim Munir and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The funeral prayer, led by Hafiz Abdul Rauf, a designated global terrorist, was held at a government school and attended by a serving Lieutenant General of the Pakistan Army and the Inspector General of Punjab Police.

Hafiz Muhammed Jameel

Affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hafiz Muhammed Jameel was the eldest brother-in-law of JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar. He headed the Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur and was deeply involved in radical indoctrination efforts and fundraising activities for the group. His role in shaping the ideological foundation of young recruits made him a critical asset to JeM.

Mohammad Yusuf Azhar

Another brother-in-law of Masood Azhar, Yusuf Azhar, also also known as Ustad Ji, Mohd Salim or Ghosi Sahab, played an important role in Jaish-e-Mohammed’s operations. He was responsible for weapons training and was actively involved in numerous terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. He was also wanted in connection with the IC-814 Indian Airlines hijacking case, which led to the release of Masood Azhar in 1999.

Khalid alias Abu Akasha

A Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, Khalid had a long history of involvement in terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir. He was also engaged in weapons smuggling operations from Afghanistan. His funeral in Faisalabad was reportedly attended by senior officials of the Pakistan Army and the Deputy Commissioner of the district.

Mohammad Hassan Khan

Affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, Mohammad Hassan Khan was the son of Mufti Asghar Khan Kashmiri, JeM's operational commander in Pakistan.

*** Indian Govt sources say - Final strikes were Indian ones on Pakistan airbases

Ceasefire followed only after a call from the Pak DGMO at 3.30pm today to his counterpart saying Pakistan would not undertake any more strikes and specifically requesting a ceasefire

The Indus water treaty suspension remains unaffected.

No information will be shared with Pakistan and India will commence water projects on the 3 northern rivers

• US has accepted India’s change of war doctrine.

Any further terror attack will be accepted as an act of war
