The question West Bengal is being forced to confront today is no longer political—it is constitutional.
The BJP should not worry much about next election; the priority now is to save the state from constitutional anarchy.
West Bengal BJP President and party's Rajya Sabha MP, Samik Bhattacharya says, "... What is happening in West Bengal is not only the absence of law and order.
It tantamount to the total breakdown of constitutional machinery.
The demand of the hour is that the custodians of the Constitution should intervene immediately."
| Now Pressure on Two Gujarat bros |
First thing first -- Why did not Samik Bhattacharya, Suvendu Adhikari or even 'truth bomb puncher' Dilip Ghosh make such observations -- on the day ED-raid fiasco unfold ?
Look -- the other side -- Mamata Banerjee also realises that she might have crossed the Laxman rekha. The new Trinamool version is -- she went on the rampage at the I-PAC office as party chief and not as the chief minister.
It's hilarious ... but what else a Chief Minister can say when she has clearly violated the law ?
And that too of Mamata's calibre and aptitude ?
Secondly; mark Samik's words --- ... custodians of the Constitution should intervene immediately.
Is he talking about the Union Home Ministry ? Is he referring to Governor of West Bengal ?
(And it is surprising why a Governor in this case not behaving as a true eyes-and-ears of the President of the Union?)
Next -- the onus comes to PM Narendra Modi -- a macho Hindutva leader with 56 inch chest. Why is he tolerating a Chief Minister ... who shields a central government's probe agency discharge their job?
And why he is not even getting 'angry' when the Chief Minister in question has called his 'Amit Bhai' -- "a nasty and a naughty Home Minister".
Beware sirs -- the adjectives may get stuck.
Worse; Mamata claims she has 'pen drive' on Amit Shah. Of course no one trusts her.
Hence .... if some BJP leaders including a former Governor now is talking about the fear associated with the 'Got up Match' conundrum -- the illusive Time Machine has caught up with PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and also their "didi" (and for people of Bengal ...a real-time Aapa)".
Leap forward - On the first day itself ... the CPI-M leaders have demanded that Mamata's conduct calls for FIR and immediate arrest.
Importantly; they also spoke about 'match fixing' between BJP and the Trinamool of the past -- where Modi and Amit Shah have tolerated the whimsical style of functioning of a chief minister.
And now if nothing is done by the President of India .. and that is the Modi Govt -- no one would believe the catchy one-liner ....
Modi Hae Toh Mumkin hae.
It will be easily replaced by -- "Narender ... surrender". And the target may not be Pakistan .. but it would be a mere chief minister in a state -- which is governance-staved and which is reeling under lawlessness and corrupt-rule of a 'Goondi' -- the strong adjective used by another BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari
Henceforth ... two or three things should be clear
** If Centre does not act against Mamata Govt this time -- BJP leaders Samik Bhattacharya and Suvendu Adhikari should resign. In fact, it will be a case which Suvendu should use effectively and return to Trinamool.
** If Mamata is allowed to go scotfree .... no need of SIR or even coming election in the state.
TMC's return to power will be only a formality.
Mr Modi; your reputation is at stake in West Bengal

Of course, Article 356 has come into unavoidable focus. Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer once described President’s Rule as a mechanism not of punishment but of restoration of constitutional propriety after governance collapses.
India’s history—from the dismissal of BJP governments after Babri Masjid in four states including UP, to the dismissal of the Karunanidhi government in 1990 by Chandrashekhar as PM and even to Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh in 2016 —shows that
political colour has never insulated states once institutional breakdown is established.
In fact, the DMK government was dismissed even without a formal report from the then Governor Surjeet Singh Barnala.
President’s Rule remains controversial, and rightly so. But when law enforcement is allegedly paralysed by the state executive, courts are disrupted, and the Governor signals constitutional distress, denial becomes indulgence. West Bengal may not yet be under President’s Rule—but the trajectory is unmistakable. The real question is no longer “if” the debate will intensify, but whether constitutional repair will come through restraint—or compulsion -- goes a commentary in 'The Raisina Hills'.
Who wrote it is immaterial?
And we can presume -- the ED’s explosive court plea alleging ‘complete subversion of rule of law’ raises a constitutional question West Bengal can no longer dodge.
Why did not Modi act on Jan 8th itself ?
Was he waiting for the grand puja/celebration at the sacred Somnath Temple?
That sacred land is a symbol of righteousness and courage -- time PM Modi displays the same.
Get focused Mr Prime Minister -- sitting on wheel chair did not help Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram.
People of West Bengal will in fact heave a sigh of relief if she is shown her place.
Do not wait for such recommendations from Bengal's "modern intellectuals and media". It's all lost in Fish-fry Journalism. Mamata Banerjee is famous for hosting such events.
If you do not know -- that 'dictator lady' with that chappal .... has a habit of asking journalists to sing at the end of her press conferences and the table with fish curries and fries is laid out well.
Next time ... if you do not act now .... 'aapa' may ask one of your Bengal BJP leaders to entertain with Rabindra sangeets.
Ting Tong.
