Congress and ecosystem trying 'many dirty tricks' , BJP MPs tell PM Modi on Assam-Mizoram border dispute
A delegation of BJP lawmakers from northeastern states led by Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the vexed Assam-Mizoram dispute and blamed Congress and its eco-system for trying "many dirty tricks".
"We the undersigned want to state clearly that the nefarious designs of the Congress will not succeed...," the memorandum said.
The members also said they were "pained" by the frequent disruption of Parliament proceedings by the Congress party.
The important meeting between the BJP lawmakers and Prime Minister Modi took place amid reports that both the states would be taking proactive steps and displaying good gestures to ensure peace.
On behalf of Mizoram police, an FIR against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at Vairengte Police Station on July 26 would be withdrawn as a 'positive gesture' from the Mizoram police for the sake of peace in the border areas.
Kolasib district deputy commissioner H. Lalthlangliana said no vehicle had entered the state through Kolasib, either from Cachar or Hailakandi districts of Assam.
The memorandum among other issues blamed Congress dispensations from time to time for their follies with regard Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram and other states.
