A Big Embarrassment: Nagaland Congress says state assembly 'partisan' towards NSCN (IM), against Governor R N Ravi

Former Minister and Nagaland state pradesh Congress chief Kewekhape Therie says the just concluded Nagaland assembly proceedings and debates etc etc ..were aimed only to “delay the implementation of political solution, which is kept in cold storage”.

“ They are weeping for Manipur Nagas. Their hearts are burning with no solution for them. The entire assembly discussion on political issue was for NSCN (I-M).”

A S C Jamir discovery: Therie

Further, he said the members had “completely ignored Congress, which is the main opposition party in Parliament”.

Of course, Congress does not have any legislator in the present state assembly. But it goes without saying for long, the Congress party has been in power in the northeastern state.

Therie also accused the members of having no respect for the head of state- the Governor of Nagaland and Interlocutor (RN Ravi)- and even the prime minister, Narendra Modi - "who has declared that the Naga issue has been resolved".

On solution in Manipur, Therie said “we are sorry that NSCN (I-M) Manipur Nagas have no solution for them in their own land”. He advised “you have to win the hearts of your people. They should accept you as brothers as we do to you here. We cannot win their hearts and love for you, nor can the GoI.”

Therie hit out at the “hon’ble members” who he said consider Nagaland voters as materials to be bought with money.

He said the House also “thinks NSCN (I-M) can rescue them in election only” as this had happened in the past and may happen again adding “this is called, perishing together like fools”.

(local media reports said)

Morung Express reports:

On chief minister Neiphiu Rio’s speech, Therie reiterated that the Pan Naga Hoho concept was rejected by the NPCC and other stakeholders. He said NPCC did not agree to a “Pan Naga Hoho without integration of land”.

He slammed chief minister Neiphiu Rio for “trying to bring a dead issue to life but he is not Jesus”. Therie opined that there was “no more emotion, sensation or sentiment of relationships” since the land, marked with thousands of graves over the years, is “occupied by widows and orphans.”

“The blood has not dried on the hands of killers” he said as “pain and sufferings continue to haunt the inherent dwellers”.

He said that “integration within states is not acceptable anymore” though “as blood brothers, we will continue to integrate at the national level.”

He concluded that “the state assembly’s love is all for NSCN (I-M)” and that members were “speaking more than NSCN (I-M)”.

He said the members “don’t represent their own home stakeholders (also) do not represent the WC of NNPGs” and neither do they have any respect or recognition for tribal hohos or ANGBF (GBs federation).

Need for matured handling !
