It is only after Tom Cooper's remarks about India destroying nuclear facilities in Pakistan, a section of western media is talking about having an "edge" in the conflict with Pakistan.
"Where India appears to have had a clear edge is in its targeting of Pakistan's military facilities and airfields, as the latter stretch of fighting shifted from symbolic strikes and shows of force to attacks on each other's defence capabilities,” says 'New York Times' which had made reporting against India and the Modi government a virtue.
Among the most significant attacks was a precision strike on the Bholari Air Base near Karachi, where satellite imagery showed visible damage to an aircraft hangar, the NYT claimed.
How the 'simple hatred' for Narendra Modi has made media compromise on their entire credibility ?
In South Asian geopolitics, perception often outpaces reality – until reality bites.
India has long projected regional dominance, bolstered by economic growth and nuclear might.
According to large sections of western media -- actions taken by new Delhi in the aftermath of the April 22 massacre carried out by the Resistance Front (TRF) in Kashmir exposed its vulnerabilities.
This was far from truth as states nuclear and military analyst Tom Cooper.
Intended to assert strength, an article in aljazeera.com said - India’s response faltered, boosting Pakistan’s regional standing and leaving Narendra Modi’s government diplomatically weakened.
These are the same spin masters who post-1965 Pak defeat had given a line perhaps Pakistan did better.
Worse for Narendra Modi and India; the basic distortion was done by US President Donald Trump. These will have to be countered suitably and have been countered largely.
MEA spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said contrary to Trump's claims there were no links to trade and ceasefire.
Secondly, even on Nuke; Jaiswal's remarks virtually snubbed the US President.
He made it clear - spiritedly echoing what Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his May 12 evening radio broadcast, "As you know, India has a firm stance that it will not give in to nuclear blackmail, or allow cross-border terrorism to be conducted, invoking it. In conversations with various countries, we have also cautioned that their subscribing to such scenarios could hurt them in their own region".
India also rejected US President Donald Trump's claim that he helped broker a ceasefire between India and Pakistan in exchange for 'trade concessions'. The MEA spokesman said - that the "issue of trade did not come up" in any discussions between the two nations during the recent military escalation.
Most western media have been partisan and clearly sympathetic to Pakistan.
'The Guardian' from London says : 'The Guardian view on a Himalayan truce: it follows a familiar pattern of conflicts past'
Will they ever justify such a big statement and ....
when was the last time 100 terrorists and other wrong doers were eliminated in one operation at one go.
"The pattern is tragically familiar. The world has watched the same chessboard reset too many times.
The trigger this time was a brutal terrorist attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, which killed two dozen Indian tourists and was claimed by a group that India – and other analysts – say is an offshoot of a United Nations-designated terror organisation. Its actions brought to an end efforts by Pakistan’s political leadership to build bridges with Delhi," says 'The Guardian' comment.
However, there are some convincing answers too.
"The war on balance was won by India setting the stage for the next confrontation in 1971 when Pakistan would be cut to half its size. Many lessons emerged from the operations of Apr to Sep 1965 which apply to the day," wrote Syed Ata Hasnain, a former GoC, in an article in 2015.
In fact, so much is Pakistan's way of making fun of itself that it celebrates Sept 6th year to spread the propaganda that it did better in the 1965 war.
Even after recent setback, Pakistani military and PM Shehbaz Sharif are claiming their 'victory'.
Such ridiculous gesture is possible only with Pakistan.
"Dubious claims of Pakistan through its celebrations on 6 September each year has created a perception that India and the Indian Army were soundly defeated in this war.
The only reason why India’s undoubted victory in 1965 is not celebrated as profoundly is because there are far greater and more decisive victories to celebrate – 1971 and 1999 for instance," wrote GoC Husnain.
But in 2015 -- when it marked 50 years of the 1965 war, a grand exhibition of photographs and other war-related matters, tanks, guns and newspaper reports were displayed.
So will these lead Narendra Modi to recast his approach and come out with a more result-oriented 'Pakistan policy'?
The 'Israel model' was already at work until the announcement of ceasefire by Trump has done the damage.

For decades now, Pakistan seems to understand it pretty well that to knock its doors for talks may not work with India under Modi.
They expect New Delhi to always walk the extra mile.
Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee traveled to Lahore and had invited Gen Pervez Musharraf for a summit meet at Agra. Even as Agra failed after L K Advani-Sushma Swaraj duo played up hardliners and Musharraf staged a media-coup, in 2003 just before Vajpayee walked out of office, India-Pakistan talks resulted in reducing military tensions along the LoC.
“The insistence on meeting Hurriyat as a precondition is also a complete departure from the Ufa understanding. India has always held the position that there are only two stake holders in our relationship, not three. The people of both countries can legitimately ask today what is the force that compels Pakistan to disregard the agreements reached by two elected leaders and sabotage their implementation,” a strong statement (in 2015)
only has one part of the story. It pins down on Pakistani army’s role. What’s next?
Pakistani newspaper Dawn seems to have read Modi’s mind well and wrote (in 2015)
- “INDIAN Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the UAE, and the joint communiqué issued afterwards, should be nothing less than a wake-up call for Pakistan,” it said in its powerful editorial.
The UAE-India joint communiqué also goes to some lengths to “condemn efforts, including by states, to use religion to justify, support and sponsor terrorism against other countries” “The language is being widely interpreted to be pointed towards Pakistan,” it said. Modi in his Dubai speech also asserted, whether you join the fight against terrorism or be where you are.
