".... tum hi kaho yeh Muharam hui - ki Eid hui," -- BJP member Sudhanshu Trivedi on AAP-Congress alliance on Delhi Services Bill, and the futility

".... tum hi kaho yeh, Muharam hui ki Eid hui," -- BJP member Sudhanshu Trivedi on AAP-Congress alliance on Delhi Services Bill, and the futility

During the debate in Rajya Sabha on Monday, Aug 7, the articulate BJP MP taking a potshot at the Congress party, said that the AAP has reduced Congress' vote to half in Gujarat, it replaced the Congress' presence in Punjab... and in Delhi, it wiped out the grand-old party but still the Congress party has forgiven the AAP.

("Gujarat me vote half kardiya... Punjab me inka switch off kardiya.. Delhi me saaf kardiya and aapne inko maaf kardiya").

Castigating Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the BJP lawmaker said, "He keeps claiming that he is the most educated chief minister, I will give a few examples. During the peak of Covid19 season, he said all anti Covid vaccine formula should be distributed like 'churan'. In Singapore there was a conference of mayors, but despite being a Chief Minister, he wanted to attend".

Even Home Minister Amit Shah spoke on similar line during his reply and said "AAP's target has been always you, they never targeted us".

Trivedi further said that the BJP "never compromised on its ideology with Congress in 70 years but the Aam Aadmi Party compromised on its ideology in just 72 days".

"Aaj Delhi ka janta apne aapko thaga hua mehsus karti hae (Today, people of Delhi feel they have been cheated)".

Trivedi said the AAP leaders had always gone back on their words.

"They used to say, we will never join politics (during Anna Hazare agitation days). Then they pledged we will never compromise or work with the Congress. Then said, they will not take government bungalows....".

Mr Trivedi wondered that while the AAP regime had called for as many as 76 Vigilance files, there was no meeting of Delhi Flood Control Authority for last two years. Moreover, the Secretary later reported (as in media) that the meeting over Vigilance matters continued from 9 pm to 3 am; and also that even some 'confidential files were called'.

He said it is therefore there was a need felt for the Ordinance and hence the new Delhi Services Bill.

Sudhanshu Trivedi also ridiculed Congress decision to back Arvind Kejriwal, who had time and again earlier had castigated the then Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
