Bigger achievements in success with Low cost: Moon naming ::: 'Shiv Shakti' controversy SICKULARISM grips Congress !!

In 1981, for example, when India launched its first major satellite called APPLE, ISRO used a motor from its untested SLV rocket. This rocket had only one launch — and that had failed — before APPLE went up.

But the adaptation was successful. In space engineering, where conditions are tough and costs of failure high, it is not easy to adapt technology. It also involves more risk, but ISRO has been willing to take — and manage — that risk, says 'The Economic Times'

Did u believe there are enough talent beyond IITs etc etc ....

A Small-town college supplied motors for Chandrayaan-3

The 'Sona College of Technology', a lesser-known engineering college in Salem, tamil Nadu has made significant contributions to India's space missions. They developed a stepper motor for the Chandrayaan-3 Moon mission and a quadruplex BLDC motor for the Reusable Launch Vehicle project.

These achievements highlight the talent and potential of regional engineering colleges in India, which often produce scientists and engineers for prestigious projects like ISRO's Chandrayaan mission.

One of the most interesting facts about the Chandrayaan-3 mission is its cost.

India managed to complete the mission for around $75 million (approximately Rs 615 crore), which is almost 30 per cent less than the Chandrayaan-2 mission, which cost India around $124 million (approximately Rs 980 crore).

In 2014 Prime Minister Narendra Modi drew a dramatic comparison. He said India's Mars Orbiter Mission Mangalyaan at $74 million had cost less than the movie 'Gravity' which had cost nearly $100 million.
NASA's similar Mars mission, Maven, had cost nearly 10 times more.

(BJP leader Anil K Antony said, "....India under PM @narendramodi  ji is not just reaching new heights , but also reclaiming our rich and sacred civilisational ethos, and is proudly moving further and further away from a national discourse that was just revolving around one family. Family first vs India first)

("Had it been UPA, they would have never sent Chandrayaan 2 & 3 & if they did they would have named it Indira Point and Rajiv Point," BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla said.)

ISRO chairman S Somanath on Sunday said said there is no controversy regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi naming the Chandrayaan-3 landing site as ‘Shiv Shakti point’.

Earlier on Saturday, he told Business Today's India@100 Summit, "It is customary, but it is very spontaneous for him (PM) to identify a name that is more Indianised and Indian sounding...it is something very unique. He (the Prime Minister in office) only can do it".

"We were overjoyed by this naming. It is conventional for space people when such extra-planetary event takes place, we generally name such locations."

Somanath also shared the latest updates on rover Pragyan, which is carrying out in-situ experiments. He said the rover has moved 12-plus meters on the lunar surface. "It is moving very slowly, it's a cute little baby. It can't run fast, it is crawling. It is equipped with very fantastic instruments and also beautiful navigation cameras. However the data rate is very slow, and the speed is very slow. We are expecting to turn (the rover) in such a way that we can take a picture of the lander today or tomorrow."

"The entire world will laugh. Who has given PM Modi the right to name a point on the moon. We have landed, it is very good. We are proud of it, no doubt in it. But we are not the owner of the moon or the point," Congress leader Rashid Alvi said in a television interview where he was countered with 'Jawahar point'.

But he conveniently forgets certain things !!

On the contrary, Jawahar Point, where Chandrayaan 1, the first Moon Mission, crash-landed on the moon in 2008, was named after India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru is the name.

Defending Congress, Alvi said, "You can't compete Jawaharlal Nehru with anything. Whatever Isro is it is only because of Jawaharlal Nehru. In 1962, it was Vikram Sarabhai and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who founded Isro. So you can say that Pandit Nehru founded all this. That is absolutely different thing. But now Modiji is politicising the thing."

Retaliating to Rashid Alvi's statement, BJP's party's national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said Congress only revealing its 'anti-Hindu' self.

"This is the same party that questions the existence of Lord Ram, opposes Ram Temple and abuses Hindus. Both the names -- Shiv Shakti Point and Tiranga Point -- are attached to the country.

Why does Rashid Alvi find this ridiculous? And then the leaders call themselves janeudhari. The Congress has family first principle. They will only praise Gandhi family, Jawaharlal Nehru. Vikram lander is named after Vikram Sarabhai," Poonawalla said.

"Had it been UPA, they would have never sent Chandrayaan 2 & 3 & if they did they would have named it Indira Point and Rajiv Point," the BJP leader said.

"From a time in 2008 when the then government named #Chanrayaan1 landing point as ‘Jawahar point’ to the naming of the recent #Chandrayaan3 moon landing spot as ‘Shiv Shakti’ point and #Chandrayaan2 landing spot as ‘Tiranga’ point - India under PM @narendramodi  ji is not just reaching new heights , but also reclaiming our rich and sacred civilisational ethos, and is proudly moving further and further away from a national discourse that was just revolving around one family. Family first vs India first," Anil Antony tweeted making a veiled attack on the Congress party.

You also need to take note Rs 615 crore Chandrayaan-3 created Rs 31,000 crore stock rally

"While the rest of the world is left stumped by the power of India's frugal approach to land on the moon by spending just Rs 615 crore, Dalal Street investors are generously pouring thousands of crores of rupees in almost all stocks that have something to do with aerospace." - 'The Economic Times' reported.

While Larsen & Toubro (L&T) was involved in the moon mission starting from manufacturing of subsystems to mission tracking, defence PSU Mishra Dhatu Nigam supplied critical materials for the LVM3 M4, a three-stage heavy lift launch vehicle.

PTC Industries supplied pump interstage housing, and MTAR was involved in supplying equipment such as Vikas engines, and cryogenic engine subsystems including turbo pump and booster pump. Paras supplied the navigation system for Chandrayaan-3 while PSU BHEL supplied titanium tanks and batteries.

While it is quite possible that a number of these Indian companies may get global attention in the $447 billion space market, investors must look at the order book and financial statements together while finding a potential stock to bet on and not get carried away by the upbeat sentiment.

While pointing out other upcoming missions of ISRO like Gaganyaan, Aditya L1, XPoSat, NISAR and SPADEX, Apurva Sheth of SAMCO Securities said space and defence stocks is a megatrend that investors must look out for in the years to come.
