Aam Aadmi Party to stay away from contest in Nagaland

#AAP stays away from contest in #Nagaland

"... for want of limited time" ... real issues it is shying to mention is 'expenditures' saga

Election contest in Nagaland is 'scary' in terms of money !!!  This blogger is personally no big fan of Arvind Kejriwal and has hardly appreciated 'Kharagpur-trained' Left liberal (read urban Naxal oriented...anarchy variety) politics of negativity.

But it is true, it is always advisable to AAP or any party which wants to contest polls in Nagaland, that they must go with sacks of money !!

That way the AAP does not fit into political narratives in Nagaland especially during elections as the AAP at least claims to be anti-thesis to spending money in polls.

But in this northeastern state astronomical figures in 'eight figures' are spent during assembly polls in the state, and still someone is always found wanting.

But to many in Nagaland unhappy with BJP-NDPP combine, the AAP was seen as a genuine alternative.

The AAP is also seen as an altervative to the BJP at the national level especially after Congress's philosophical Bharat Jodo Yatra did not connect to its electoral strategies.

Of course, the story from Nagaland does not tally with PM Narendra Modi's success stories in the national level.

The established political parties in Nagaland -- namely the Indian National Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), NDPP and NPF --- all have failed.

A month back, one Z Lotha wrote in a piece in 'Nagaland Page' -- "If someone says they conspired to fail the common people; such a critical observation will not be wrong".

"The common Naga people and especially the youngsters are thus now looking for a genuine alternative," he says adding, the AAP can be that alternative.

But possibly the same youths and even others will not mind money playing game-changers in Nagaland elections.

Surprisingly, LJP (Ram Vilas) which perhaps entered Nagaland polity also in January 2023 now has many candidates and some are tough fighters like Kevechutso Doulo in Chizami and Dr A Sukhato in Pughoboto.

Of course, another argument is AAP could not attract many candidates as ticket aspirants either wanted to fall for Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio-run NDPP or the BJP.

The candidates'  choice of LJP (Ram Vilas) is also guidd by Chirag Paswan's affinity to the NDA club.
