Modi takes on Mamata regime on Corruption ::: Says -- "Criminals and corrupt should be in jail, not in power" ... also clearly strong endorsement of new Bills

Criminals and corrupt should be in jail, not in power: PM Modi at Kolkata rally

Narendra Modi referred to Bengal Correctional Services Minister, Chandranath Sinha, who is in jail in connection with the teacher recruitment scam case.

"If a PM, CM or minister is jailed, there is no legal provision to dismiss them. And look how shameless people are that they run governments from inside the jail," the Prime Minister said in an indirect reference to West Bengal's Correctional Services Minister, Chandranath Sinha, who is in jail in connection with the school recruitment scam.

Modi said: "A TMC minister is still in jail in the teacher recruitment scam. Yet the minister was not willing to relinquish his post".

Modi's latest attack on Trinamool Congress came hours after within the same day when he launched a similar salvo on the RJD during a visit to election-bound Bihar.

Backing the proposed bill to bar those with criminal backgrounds from contesting elections, PM Modi asserted that "no one can give orders from jail," as he targeted parties that, he claimed, treat people merely as a vote bank while ignoring their aspirations, dignity and development.

The Prime Minister inaugurated 13.61 km of newly constructed metro lines in Kolkata and launched train services on three routes. These included

the Noapara-Jai Hind Bimanbandar section,

the Sealdah-Esplanade section,

and the Beleghata-Hemanta Mukhopadhyay section.

The Prime Minister during his visit to election-bound Bihar took a sharp dig at the RJD, invoking its past rule as the "lantern era" and accusing it of plunging the state into darkness, lawlessness and backwardness.

PM Modi asserted that “no one can give orders from jail,” as he targeted parties that, he claimed, treat Bihar’s people merely as a vote bank while ignoring their aspirations, dignity and development.
