PM Narendra Modi on Aug 3, 2015 during the signing of Framework Agreement with NSCN-IM
"Unfortunately, the Naga problem has taken so long to resolve because we did not understand each other. It is a legacy of the British Rule.
The colonial rulers had, by design, kept the Nagas isolated and insulated. They propagated terrible myths about Nagas in the rest of the country.
They deliberately suppressed the reality that the Nagas were an extremely evolved society. They also spread negative ideas about the rest of India amongst Naga people.
This was part of the well known policy of divide and rule of the colonial rulers. It is one of the tragedies of Independent India that we have lived with this legacy."

Home Minister Amit Shah:
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a new era of peace and development in the Northeast.
We have solved the long problem of Bru and Reang refugees by settling them in Tripura, we solved the Bodo conflict by signing a new agreement and we also reach reached a settlement in Karbi Anglong by signing an agreement.
Today, I want to tell the people of Nagaland that we are hopeful of finding a solution to the long Naga conflict through peace talks"

"The talks should not be delayed further ....I told the Government of India and two of our leaders (PM Narendra Modi and HM Shah) do not expect unanimity...even in parliament you don't get unanimity, same in a family. Democracy means someone will not agree.
It's all right".
"I speak frankly and so many Naga leaders do not like me. I have always been speaking the truth".
Q. Tuccu, chairman - NSCN-IM (Aug 3, 2025)
“It is unimaginable for NSCN to share platform with the groups with contrasting stand on Naga political solution. The treacherous politics of NNPGs is no longer hidden from others...The Agreed Position .... a copycat of Framework Agreement under the deceitful name Agreed Position".
“Framework Agreement and Agreed Position are poles apart and we see no meeting point whatsoever".
R N Ravi on February 27/28, 2020 :
(in an media interview to 'South Asia Terrorism Portal' )
"Delay in concluding talks is entirely on the part of the NSCN-IM. It seems not prepared for a settlement and is using delaying tactics by giving new mischievous interpretations on the already agreed provisions of contentious issues."
PM Modi and R N Ravi (now Governor of Tamil Nadu)
Aug 14, 2020
(on the eve of Independence Day ) R N Ravi (Governor, Nagaland)
"When the security forces and the Naga armed groups agreed to suspend operations against each other paving the way for political settlement, the legitimate expectation of the people of Nagaland was dividends of peace – freedom from fear of guns, better health, better education, better infrastructure, better livelihood opportunities....and an eco-system to pursue their dreams".
N Kitovi Zhimomi, Convener, NNPG (on AUg 14, 2020)
"Naga young generations must be given a space to grow and compete with the best in the world. We cannot burden our young men and women with monotonous fairy tale stories that satisfies one’s ego only.
We must equip them with practical lessons to help them shape their own future with appropriate political structure in place. Honourable and acceptable Indo-Naga political solution is the only answer."

Neakpao Konyak, Feb 7th (2025) in an interview with the blogger
"The NNPG is ready to ink the peace pact. We have made it clear that we understand Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stance vis-a-vis flag and a separate Naga constitution.
"The fact of the matter is we need peace and Solution is the key to the lasting peace and Development. ..... Development is important for today's generation and the youngsters and the next generation.... How long will Nagas continue to suffer ?
Political Solution anywhere in the world will definitely bring in progress and development. This is just one of many layers ..... etu toh hobo asey.
The Agreed Position is like a win-all. "
