Do not trust your girl friend, politics and Football world cup encounters : Anything can happen ! Germany and Argentina humbled

Desert drama called Battle of Boots has just unfolded !!

Asano, one of Japanese coach Moriyasu’s five replacements at half time, took down a floating ball expertly along the right, outmuscled Nico Schlotterbeck and, after racing in on Manuel Neuer’s goal, rifled in.... (The Guardian)

and that made history!!

Do not trust your girl friend, politics and Football world cup encounters. Anything can happen !!

I am a fan of #German soccer !! really admire their skills...but today Japan is great ....the Asian Pride

Football has a funny way of bringing up narratives, and two Japan players - who play their club football in Germany - on Thursday, Nov 23, conspired to score the goals that defeated the former world champions at the World Cup in Qatar.

Germany fans were vastly outnumbered and deafeningly outsung, their only real cheer coming when Ilkay Gundogan scored from the penalty spot for a 1-0 half-time lead.

Japan failed to have a shot on target in the opening period, but scored with two of their three efforts in the second period to complete a superb turnaround, says BBC.

"Japan's fans are truly the best.
They beat Germany in a famous win, but before celebrating stuck around at the Khalifa International Stadium to help clean up.👏" -- tweeted Ben Jacobs

wonderful gestures. truly a great country and their great culture !!

Japan boss Hajime Moriyasu, who gave an animated post-match team talk with his players in a huddle on the pitch, also hailed the battling abilities of his players.

"We are reaching the global standard," he said. "We are showing our capability from Asian football. They have a wonderful goalkeeper however, our players were very intelligent.

"When we conceded a goal, we continued. You have to be persistent, then you can go. Our team fought really hard. We need to be tough until the very last minute and then we can grab this moment.

"Maybe we could show that Japanese players have been building up to their true abilities."

Former England striker Chris Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live: "What a strange World Cup. What a strange game.

"Japan weren't in it in the first half - Germany were controlling it. Then all of a sudden Japan show they can play. Then Asano with a brilliant finish, he lifts the ball into the roof of the net past Manuel Neuer.

Japan’s first victory over Germany sent a seismic jolt through the World Cup and was reward for the courage shown by Hajime Moriyasu. The coach wrested this Group E opener his side’s way with a series of second-half substitutions that transformed the contest and consigned Germany to defeat in their opening World Cup match for a second consecutive tournament.

Four years ago in Russia a Hirving Lozano strike gave Mexico a famous win over the four-times champions. On Wednesday it was Takuma Asano of the Bundesliga’s Bochum who sent the vocal Japanese fans at Khalifa International Stadium into ecstasy along with his teammates and the rest of the squad who flooded on to the pitch to celebrate his 83rd-minute winner.

Meanwhile,

Spain humbled Costa Rica 7-0. It's their biggest ever World Cup win, surpassing the 6-1 victory over Bulgaria in 1998.

In 2010 when Spain won the World Cup they only scored 8 goals in total!
