PM Narendra Modi hoists sacred saffron flag at Ram Mandir, marking completion of temple

“Today marks the completion of a centuries-long yajna, whose sacred flame burned for 500 years without wavering in faith or devotion. The divine energy of Lord Shri Ram now stands enshrined in the form of this dharma-dhwaj at the grand temple. This flag is not merely a symbol, it represents the resurgence of Indian civilisation".

‘Our Ram unites through emotion, not division’

PM Modi said, "I urge every citizen to visit the Sapt Mandapam when they come to the Ram Temple.

These mandaps strengthen the values of faith, friendship, duty and social harmony.

Our Ram unites through emotion, not division, what matters to him is devotion, not lineage.”

Yogi Adityanath presents miniature models of the Saffron Flag ceremonially hoisted on the 'shikhar' of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir and Ram Lalla idol at the temple, to PM Narendra Modi and RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat.

Modi said, “This religious flag is not merely a flag; it is the banner of the renaissance of Indian civilisation.

Its saffron color, the fame of the Suryavansh lineage depicted on it, the inscribed word Om, and the embossed Kovidar tree symbolize the glory of Ram Rajya.”

The right-angled triangular flag features a radiant Sun symbolising Lord Rama’s brilliance and valour, an 'Om', and the Kovidara tree.

The flag measures 10 feet in height and 20 feet in length.

This sacred flag represents dignity, unity, and cultural continuity, reflecting the ideals of Ram Rajya.

PM Modi took part in special prayers as he arrived at the Ram Mandir, alongside other dignitaries.

"Today, all our efforts have become meaningful" -- says RSS chief.

Ayodhya entered new era of faith today, says Yogi Adityanath

"This grand temple is the symbol of 140 crore Indians' faith and self-respect.

I congratulate all the 'Karma yogis' who sacrificed themselves for this...

This flag is the proof that the light of Dharma is immortal and the principles of Ram Rajya are timeless...

When PM Modi became the prime minister in 2014, the faith that rose in the hearts of crores of Indians is now symbolised as this grand Ram Temple... This saffron flag symbolises Dharma, integrity, truth, justice and 'Rashtra Dharma'," he said.

The sacred saffron flag will be atop a Shikhar constructed in the traditional North Indian Nagara architectural style, while the surrounding 800-metre Parkota, a circumambulatory enclosure built around the temple, designed in the South Indian architectural tradition, showcases the temple’s architectural diversity.

The Kovidar tree is a hybrid of the Mandar and Parijat trees, created by Rishi Kashyap, showcasing ancient plant hybridisation. The Sun represents Lord Ram's Suryavansh lineage, and Om is the eternal spiritual sound.

Hoisting of the flag coincides with the Abhijit Muhurat of Shri Ram and Maa
Sita's Vivah Panchami.
