Air Force chief Air Marshal AP Singh on Sunday (May 4) met Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid escalating tensions with Pakistan in the wake of the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam last month, which killed 26 people.
Navy chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an hour-long meeting on May 3rd and discussed operational preparedness and the ongoing operations including the drills in the Arabian Sea.
Over the past few days, the Navy has been extensively carrying out exercises in the Arabian Sea within its Exclusive Economic Zone, with warships on alert against any unusual activity.

In an interview with 'Russia Today', Muhammad Khalid Jamali, the envoy, claimed that some leaked documents revealed that India would strike certain areas of Pakistan and that a conflict was "imminent".
"The frenzy media of India and the irresponsible statements coming out from that side has compelled us. There are some other leaked documents whereby it has been decided to strike some areas of Pakistan. So, that makes us to feel that this is going to happen and it's imminent," he said.
While in the past all Pakistani military generals were forced to temporarily cede space to democracy. in 2025 -- as a last minute saving grace the army has decided to revive the war cry. The Pahalgam terror attack is thus linked to Pakistani army's desperation -- something Pakistanis will admit probably a decade later when things may be too late.
Pakistan's last military dictator was forced to quit in 2008. One must appreciae since then Pakistan has seen the longest spell of civilian control in its history.
Now that India has started multi-pronged actions in response to Pahalgam. All credit must be given to the Indian's leadership - both political and military - for going slow.

Amid the possibility of taking military action against Pakistan, Army Chief Gen Dwivedi met PM Modi at his residence at his 7, Lok Kalyan Marg residence on April 30.
On May 3 at 6 pm, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi met PM. The meeting lasted for an hour. On May 3, at 12 pm, Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh also met the Prime Minister.
From time to time PM Modi also met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and NSA Doval.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has also met CDS more than once and he also briefed the Prime Minister about the military preparation.
On May 3 at 6 pm, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi met PM Modi. The meeting lasted for an hour. On May 3, at 12 pm, Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh also met the Prime Minister for about 40 minutes.
