(In 2008, Manmohan Singh was advised to target the LeT headquarters in Muridke with a cruise missile.)
Prime Minister Narendra Modi might have built up his political career and personal life with the vision of a Hindu Rashra but 'history' might have as well given him
..... an OPPORTUNITY to fight the greater cause of global peace and alter the course of history and Asia's map.
Pakistan was created out of a political game of hatred and divisions. The colonial masters as well as Congress leaders were also responsible. Also responsible was a brilliant Muslim lawyer Muhammad Ali Jinnah -- who was born in Karachi in 1876.
Once Jinnah was convinced about Hindu-Muslim "differences" and that he should pursue the dream for a new nation; nothing Mahatma Gandho said or even did could change Jinnah's perception that the Congress had a typical 'Hindu bias'.
Time flies.
Today; nothing can convince millions of Indians -- whatever likes of Malikarjun Kharge and Rahul and his mom Sonia Gandhi did and said --- that the Congress has a "Muslim bias". This perception only got strengthened when the erstwhile UPA dispensation led by Manmohan Singh (a Sikh) promoted the argument about 'saffron terror'.
The Manmohan Singh regime also did not act in 2008 after
On to another stage of debate -- we may as well say if Pakistan had learnt from its failures and experience in poor governance - instead of pushing anti-India political narratives -- it could have at least become a strong nation. Rightly goes a refrain --
Nations and people (as individuals or groups) get the blues they deserve.
Pakistan has reached that stage today.
Threatened by various internal feuds and economic crises; Pakistan presumes only a 'war' with India can unite a divided society and a nation.
The paradox is in this presumption also lies - the key to further destruction of Pakistan as a country.
Ironically again; in this 'war' mongering through terror or otherwise lies a road-map for Bharat and Moditva to correct the mistakes of history.
Narendra Modi thus has been provided with opportunities. Few leaders can modify the map of the world or a continent. And of course, a fewer individual can actually change the course of history.
Will Namo snatch this opportunity?
Pakistan has been rocked by political instability, increased terror attacks and economic disarray; on the other hand India has grown both in global stature and on economic spectrum. New Delhi's military prowess too has grown in the years since 2016.
Thus, desperation in Pakistan is expected. Pakistan is more internally divided than ever. Probably it is worse than Pakistan was in 1971. Its western borders with Afghanistan restive.
India's overall national power - in contrast - has grown manifold.
India’s GDP at $4 trillion, for example, is 10 times larger than Pakistan’s.
Delhi’s global diplomatic influence now overshadows Islamabad’s.
Post 26/11, the then External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said:
"As usual, Pakistan was in denial mode and some Pakistani leaders maintained that the terrorists were non-state actors. My response was sharp and strong. When asked by the media, I asserted ‘non-state actors do not come from heaven. They are located in the territory of a particular country.’
In this case, we had evidence that the terrorists came from Karachi port".
Obviously, India was angry. At least 175 people lay dead, including 9 terrorists and a few foreign citizens — (all anti-Islamic terror forces) -- Israelis, Americans, British.
"The impact on the national psyche was deep. The anger was mounting and the national mood was to ‘do something," wrote a diplomat Ajay Basaria in his book ‘Anger Management: The Troubled Diplomatic Relationship between India and Pakistan’.
The book was published by Rupa Publications.
One possible reaction in 2008 was to target the LeT headquarters in Muridke with a cruise missile. But nothing happened as the Congress-led UPA believed in Muslim appeasement and using Biryani diplomacy for Pakistanis.
This time the rules of the game and the players are changed. Having done two surgical strikes in 2016 and in 2019; already a higher benchmark has been set.
PM Modi has the reputation of being decisive and a gutsy. All these can be added forced-multipliers in today's situation.
One source of angst is the manner Hindus were identified before killing at Pahalgam. It is a new low ebb of Islamic terror.
Even die-hard pro-Muslim political parties have been rendered silent spectators if not forced to hang their heads in shame.
There are other issues of 'Muslim appeasement' in this country those have fueled the discontent among Hindus.
Even judiciary has double standards -- one for Ram temple where records were sought and the other for Muslims - wherein the argument is being built up that to ask for documents is unfair.
Millions of BJP karyakartas and Hindu citizens believe now that an opportunity has come; the Modi government should not miss it.
Justice is in a 'suitable revenge' and that is not an option any longer.
That is the only way.
