"... itna gire hue ho aur kitna giroge .... You are at lowest ebb; how much more you can go cheap down" -- cricketer Shikhar Dhawan slams Pakistani cricket player Shahid Afridi

Indian cricket star Shikhar Dhawan gave a strong reaction to Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi's unwarranted comments on Indian army.

"Kargil mein bhi haraya tha, already itna gire hue ho aur kitna giroge,

bewajah comments pass karne se acha hai apne desh ki taraqqi mai dimag lagao @SAfridiOfficial," Dhawan tweeted.

"Humein hamari Indian Army par bohot garv hai. Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Jai Hind!

(We beat you in Kargil. Already you guys have stooped so low, how further can you go? Instead of passing comments, focus on improving the condition of your own country. We are proud of Indian Army)," Dhawan said in a X post.

Afridi, a veteran of 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20Is, mocked Indian Army and media for their take on the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

PM Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting with the top military brass and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as India mulls options to punish those behind the April 22 Pahalgam attack, the worst terror strike on civilians in India since the 26/11 Mumbai carnage.

"atankiyo ki bachi zameen.....

"It is time to destroy the remaining (left over) land of the terrorists," PM had said at a rally in Bihar.

During his "Mann Ki Baat" address on Sunday, the Prime Minister reiterated that the "perpetrators and conspirators" of the Pahalgam attack will be "served with the harshest response".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (April 29) granted the Indian Armed Forces "complete operational freedom" to respond to the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam which killed 26 civilians last week.

The 90-minute meeting was attended by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the three service chiefs — Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, and Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh.

Congress gives opportunities to BJP to attack it:

“Is anyone really surprised that Congress and Pakistan are speaking the same language?” BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya posted along with a collage of pictures and comments made by Congress leaders.

The collage was titled: “Congress chooses terror over truth”.

“Saifuddin Soz, a former Union Minister and senior Congress leader, wants India to ignore all evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam massacre and simply accept Pakistan’s word,” Malviya wrote.

“He has most certainly exceeded even the expectations of the Pakistani deep state with such brazen advocacy.

Pakistan worship is in the Congress’s blood.”

Malviya was responding to a video in which Soz had stressed the importance of water for the people of Pakistan, appearing to oppose Modi Govt's decision.

“If the river water cannot be diverted, the state of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir will be totally submerged,” Soz is purportedly heard saying in the video.

“...If Pakistan takes a stand that they are not involved in the Pahalgam attack, then we should accept Pakistan’s word.”

Former Union leader and BJP spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad too targeted these comments, claiming Islamabad was using them to defame India.

He asked why the Congress leadership had not acted against these leaders.

“Do Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge have no control over their party? Or did both of them make pro forma comments while allowing others the freedom to speak as they wished?” Prasad said.
