In Light of Turmoil .... The idea of 'Muslim Nationhood' actually was defeated in creation of Bangladesh ... Yet all Indian PMs have shown patience .... But Pakistan is and has been what Bharat is never !!

Bharat that is India suffered Partition. 

In other words, the price of India's independence was Partition. Creation of Pakistan remained an unhappy chapter in bloodshed. Yet India showed tolerance. Hindus believed in Peace and Harmony. This was even mistaken as meekness. 

Hindus paid a bigger price for Partition but no longer !!

Mahatma Gandhi had made it worse when he advised Hindus to show the other cheek. Hindu teachings never said tolerate 'intolerance' and tyranny. We continued to do so.

Even unusual demands were entertained in the name of accommodation. Political parties such as the communists, the caste-based parties and the Congress made it worse by making a virtue of humiliating the Hindu pride. 

The appeasement became an established norm. An instrument of Mis-governance punctuated with corruption. 

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has countered Pakistani leader Bilawal Bhutto's remarks.

"This is just inflammatory rhetoric. The Pakistanis have to understand that they simply can not kill Indians with impunity... We have no designs on Pakistan. 

But if they do something, they must be prepared for a response. If blood is going to flow, it will flow possibly more on their side than ours," he said.

Forget Muslims or Pakistan -- even unusual demands of students organisations in north east were entertained and given undue importance. That appeasement spread the word even among Militants -- "New Delhi Darta hae".

Time to bell the cat !!

The real basis for the formation of Pakistan was Jinnah's two-nations theory. Pakistan army chief has only reminded that recently and within days he did so Hindu tourists were targeted and eliminated on April 22, 2025 at Pahalgam.  

Pakistan is and has been what Bharat is never !!

The same idea of Muslim nationhood remains the cause of the Kashmir problem; and we hardly appreciated this. 

The abrogation of Article 370 was therefore a much important step. Forcing the elections in Jammu and Kashmir by the Supreme Court will have to be revisited one day. And sooner it is done; it is better. 

The lobbyists were not merely Sickularists; they have helped anti-India brigade and the merchants of violence and destruction. 

Over the last seven decades, successive Indian Prime Ministers including Narendra Modi and also Atal Bihari Vajpayee tried to inject an element of positivity into the Indo-Pak relationship. But nothing seems to work. 

Pakistan is hardly  happy being what it is. Bangladesh remains its wounded tiger syndrome. Pakistan and its military are convinced that Hindus and Muslims cannot live together. 

So for them India is an 'enemy' not a neighbour which Indians often mistake by lighting candles vis-a-vis 'aman ki asha club' etc. 

Pakistanis have been made to believe that India itself is a threat to its very existence hence even cricket match is a Jihad !!

"Om Saha Nava Avatu (Together we are protected)...... Saha nau Bhanktu (Together we prosper)" 

It goes without stating that India has always believed in the principle of vedic verse often at the cost of leaving itself embarrassed. New Delhi has consistently sought friendship with Pakistan and even supported both Islamabad and Beijing when common causes came. 

PM Narendra Modi made an unscheduled visit to Lahore. Atal Bihari Vajpayee took a bus and also visited the Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore -- where Muslim League had adopted the Pakistan Resolution. 

Manmohan Singh also did his part of 'appeasing' the neighbour. But nothing worked.  

Hence now that Pahalgam has happened; it will be in fitness of things to pull up sleeves and show actions on ground.

 

The UPA avoided any confrontation. It feared the so-called dangers of escalation and also that Pakistan is a nuke country. 

Team Modi understands the layers of complexities in this argument. But Narendra Modi is a doer and so he had to find his ways.  

This so-called 'nuke nation' constraint was broken. 

The bombing of a terrorist camp in Balakot after the Pulwama tragedy in 2019 and the surgical strikes in 2016 after Uri terror attack on sleeping soldiers were Modi's message that Pakistan could not pursue Terrorism under the shadow of nuclear weapons. 

This has changed the game in more ways than one.  Bharat, that is India, of the Hindu majority -- has learnt lessons from the trauma and bitterness of the past.  

It goes without stating that India's "past" continues to reverberate in its defence, strategic and foreign policies. 

In circa 2025; Muslims may be of very much relevance for India. But Pakistan is not. 

The real issue is -- how could a rising India interact vis-a-vis its battle against terrorism with the rest of the world.
