Will law catch up with Kejriwal ??? After Vijay Nair and Manish Sisodia, AAP MP Sanjay Singh third high profile arrest by ED in the Delhi Excise scam

AAP MP Sanjay Singh arrested by ED

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva says, "Today, one thing is clear that the truth cannot be hidden...After Sanjay Singh, it's Arvind Kejriwal. Miley jab kari kari...ek zanjeer baney".

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari says, "...The way they used to write letters made it seem that there was nobody as honest as them. Today, their co-accused have turned approvers...Sanjay Singh's arrest in this liquor scam shows that the flame will not remain only on Sanjay Singh or Manish Sisodia or Satyendar Jain. Arvind Kejriwal seems to be their kingpin and the flames will reach him...".

Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on May 30, 2022 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in another money laundering case.

Earlier party's communication in-charge Vjay Nair and ex-Deputy CM Manish Sisodia have been arrested

BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia dropped hints during a TV debate that handcuffs were not far away from AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi Excise scam. It is essentially a money laundering case.

Sanjay Singh was questioned by the central probe agency for over 10 hours in connection with a money laundering case linked to the Delhi liquor policy.

Earlier, the premises of several others close to the AAP MP were searched in the case. The Enforcement Directorate had mentioned Sanjay Singh's name in its charge sheet. The probe agency said that Dinesh Arora, a middleman, had said he had met Singh during a party in his restaurant, Unplugged Courtyard.

A Delhi Court had allowed Dinesh Arora, and Raghav Magunta Reddy, the son of a YSR Congress Party MP, to become approvers in the money laundering case being investigated by the ED.

It is also alleged that AAP MP Singh was close to Dinesh Arora and had introduced him to former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia.

Was Sanjay Singh, the 'suspended' Rajya Sabha MP,  the kingpin in the case?

According to the charge sheet, Dinesh Arora said in his statement that another accused Amit Arora wanted help in shifting his liquor shop from Okhla to Pitampura. He managed this through Singh who told Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and the matter was resolved by the Excise Department.

Dinesh Arora also said he met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal once at his residence with Singh while he had spoken to Sisodia five-six times, the charge sheet stated.

Can Union Minister Prahlad Singh Patel emerge dark horse and replace Shivraj as CM in Madhya Pradesh after polls

Prahlad Singh Patel, a five-time MP, is currently the Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Jal Shakti.

He has been fielded for ensuing assembly elections raising speculation that perhaps he too could be considered for the top post. Shivraj Singh Chouhan is Chief Minister since 2005 November minus 15 months between 2018 and March 2020. Hence possibilities of bringing in Chouhan for patty work or in the central ministry is not ruled out.

He is a Member of Parliament from Damoh Loksabha Constituency in Madhya Pradesh. He was minister of state for coal in Third Vajpayee Ministry. He was first elected to 9th Lok Sabha in 1989 and again re-elected to 11th Lok Sabha in 1996 (2nd term), 13th Lok Sabha in 1999 (3rd term) from Balaghat, 16th Lok Sabha in 2014 (4th term) and 17th Lok Sabha in 2019 (5th term) from Damoh.

Besides being close to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Patel is also known in the party circle as a good organiser. It is argued that Prime Minister Narendra Modi also has positive view of the working ability of Patel.

Belonging to Lodhi Rajput community, Patel has been fielded from Narsingpur.  courted controversy recently when he tweeted about Union cabinet clearing Women's Bill and later was asked to delete the posting.

In 2021, as Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Patel was also instrumental in organising unique tourism stakeholders and tour operators conference at Khajuraho.

But he will face tough competitions too. One of the top guns who have made it to BJP's second list of candidates for the forthcoming assembly elections is veteran Kailsh Vijayvargiya.

The former in-charge for politically sensitive West Bengal and considered close to Home Minister Amit Shah, Vijayvargia has been named as party candidate from Indore-1.

In 2003, Patel emerged as a confidant of Uma Bharti after she uprooted the decade old Digvijaya Singh-led Congress government. Soon, Patel moved to Delhi, heading the Coal Ministry in the A B Vajpayee government.

When Uma Bharti mounted a rebellion against Chouhan after he was picked for the CM post in 2005, Patel walked out with her as she formed the Bharatiya Janshakti Party. But in 2009, he returned to the BJP, and in 2014, he won his fourth term as MP from Damoh.
