"When the peaceful political dialogue is subjected to force and might rather than justice and trust, the revolutionary patriots must rise up to continue the political as well as violent armed resistance to safeguard the sovereign existence of the Naga nation," thus spoke new Longvibu of Eastern Flank, A. Raman on July 29 on the felicitation programme at the Horeb camp.
Using powerful and emotive sentences -- such as -- "the political situation we face today demands that we rise once again" - he also made blistering attack on some of his former compatriots and present rivals. Here is a sample.
"I take this opportunity to clarify the assassination of Mr. Tirong Aboh, MLA of Arunachal Pradesh.
The order came directly from the then Longvibu, Gen. Anthony Ningkhan Shimray.
But after carrying out the order, Anthony Shimray instead of confronting the situation, and standing by his decision on national cause, chose to place the blame solely on those compliant soldiers.

"Our adversaries, in collusion with our own Naga brethren who have compromised and yielded to their pressure are ceaselessly conspiring to bring the Naga political issue to an end within the Union and Constitution of India, and to destroy the last bastion of Naga nationalism."
" We question our brethren who have yielded to our adversaries and working in collusion with them to destroy us, whether they are certain that we are working against the Naga national principle or are they knowingly trying to suppress us who are firmly standing for the national cause which is on the brink of annihilation?".

Raman also said :
"In my 45 years of service to the nation, the Lord God has been gracious to me. Thus far, He has led me to this very day according to His will.
Today, we are once again reminded to reflect on the journey of our national movement:
"Whenever we go against the will of God, and when unrighteousness and injustice become the norm of the day, the nation stumbles, divisions multiply, and fratricide follows.
"Our Naga history is a testament to the relationship between man and God.
The nation has gone through many seasons - making the right decision at the right time, enduring betrayal by our oppressors, and even betrayal by our own brethren.
"Despite all these, the nation has survived to this day as a testament to God's grace," he added.
In Delhi, they take the statement from Raman with all seriousness. The quick interpretation is that the duo of Hanshi and Raman (Eastern Flank power centre) is keen to display itself to the youths as chips of the old block but certainly uncompromising on 'sovereignty, flag and constitution' issues.
If they attracts "fence sitters"; there will be further pressures now to delay or avoid signing of any peace pact. In the process, the talks may continue for the name sake and the Status Quo club will continue to play games to maintain today's predicament.
