Ridiculing the BJP-NPF (all party dispensation), the NNPG led by N. Kitovi Zhimomi says :
"Today, the Indian constitutional outpost at Kohima, also called Nagaland state government, is demanding a union minister as an interlocutor in the Indo-Naga issue." It claims --
"In the early 2000s, Indian ministers such as Oscar Fernandes, Prithviraj Chavan and Raghupathi were a ministerial team on the Indo-Naga issue. What did they achieve? Nothing."

In a statement, the NNPG says: "Officially recorded, the Indo-Naga political negotiations have successfully concluded, a minister as interlocutor if required, is the prerogative of the negotiating entities and not facilitators.
GoI-NNPG talks have concluded. No such arrangement ended. The motive is to sabotage the already negotiated Indo-Naga political solution."
It says: "The mischief is a grave crime. History will not forgive the saboteurs.
The statement maintains: "The demand for a Minister level interlocutor is extremely insensible and discourteous to the Naga public.
The efforts and sacrifices of both the Govt of India and Naga interlocutory over many years, not to mention the wastage of Naga talents and human resources for decades. The bankruptcy of ideas, dispassionate remarks and antics against the people is clear."
It drives home the point that the state government (and even the legislators) are going beyond their brief.
"The facilitators are speaking the language of negotiating entities and this is the problem. They have commercialized the Naga political movement.
WC, NNPGs would gladly welcome them should they resign from their constitutional posts and form a new "Naga National Political Party" so as to start a fresh negotiation with the new interlocuter."
In what is seen as a blistering attack on the political stakeholders - who are yet again more than busy to delay the final signing ceremony - the NNPG says:
"How can a group of elected representatives from Nagaland, as facilitators, put forth a condition on the Govt of India on concluded negotiations? The Nagaland Legislative Assembly have formed an opposition less Government to expedite for an early Indo Naga Political Solution, if so; it is high time for Nagaland state government to convene a "Special assembly session and appeal to the Gol for implementation of early solution".
It says, ".... otherwise they (the state Govt) can officially declare "they do not accept either Framework Agreement or Agreed Position".
The NNPG says: "If they are desirous of handling Indo-Naga political issue, dissolve the legislative assembly, put up their own demands, whether it's the demand for new interlocutor or other Indo-Naga political matters if they really want to act as negotiators.
"Elected men doing the job of saboteurs is neither conforming to the Indian constitutional framework nor respecting the spirit and essence of negotiated Indo-Naga agreement.
They are fomenting an anti-national narrative."

"The good offices of the Honorable Prime Minister of India, the Honorable Home Minister of India and the Chief Minister of Nagaland state, have the details of both the FA and the Agreed Position and its competencies, down to the dot, pertaining to the negotiated matters of the Indo-Naga issue.
"Since 2019, WC, NNPGs have openly laid the best practical solution to the Naga problem at a present time, for scrutiny and examination.
The STATUS PAPER has carefully been structured and the best political and administrative solution for Nagaland and Naga ancestral territories in other states have been worked out and agreed upon without any ambiguity.
Has Nagaland Government analysed the negotiated documents? WC, NNPGs have not received any official feedback till date on status paper from the state government except the former Nagaland Governor R.N Ravi on 17th of January 2021, in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly addressing that
"The Negotiations have successfully concluded, there is now need for efforts to build on the substantial gains made so far and to move for final inking".
Having seen and heard enough theatrics, the demand for a minister level interlocutor is an insult to the Naga conscience, the working committee blasted the state government.
It may be added that in November 2024 - after about two months of a fresh demand for a minister-level interlocutor - the Home Minister Amit Shah had virtually snubbed the Naga delegation led by the chief minister. Shah had also told that it was unfair to blame R N Ravi and A K Mishra as they were only "messengers" of the Government.
The basic argument repeated time and again - has been that twin demands of a separate Naga constitution and a Flag were not acceptable to the centre at all.
Actually, the demands are seen as 'permanent' hurdles to an amicable Solution.
In the wake of developments within NSCN-IM and floating of a splinter group, the Eastern Flank; analysts in Delhi feel China -factor is back in the game.
This will make observers raise eyebrows in future; even if some militant leaders are guided and misguided by Beijing players; how could an elected state Govt having sworn in the name of Constitution of India is doing something like 'endorsing' the wishes of a group of people who are taking dictation from a foreign country.
The Raj Bhawan, Kohima may get into a hyper active role sooner than later.
