Trump is back with his U-Turn :::: MoU with Iran .... not final yet and the US can "return to dropping bombs", says US President

Trump: Report that Iran will receive $300b. is false

Donald Trump also said that the MoU is not finalized, and the US can "return to dropping bombs" if it is not happy.

“It’s not final. It’s a memorandum of understanding, and if I don’t like it, we’ll go back to shooting at them, dropping bombs on their head.

If I don’t like it, if they don’t behave, we’ll go right back to dropping bombs right smack in the middle of their head, okay, because they’ve misbehaved for 47 years.”

The US war in Iran inflicted an estimated $29bn damage as the population struggles with the highest inflation rate since 1942.

Reports of a $300 billion fund slated for Iran are false, US President Donald Trump said at the sidelines of the G7 summit on Wednesday.

The "US is not investing in it," he said.

Earlier reports claimed that the US-Iran memorandum of understanding expected to be formally signed in Switzerland on Friday could allow for the establishment of a $300bn investment fund for Iran, as part of a broader settlement to end the war that triggered a global energy crisis and upended markets worldwide.

US Vice President JD Vance told CBS News on Monday that the incentives would be connected to Iran’s “performance” in adhering to the deal, which was digitally signed by both sides on Sunday.

Vance even has said that the deal “fundamentally extends a hand to Iran and says, ‘Look, if you guys are willing to honour your obligations, if you’re willing to allow real inspections of your nuclear programme, then we will welcome you back into the world economy.’

The New York Times quoted sources saying the fund would not come from governments but be created for companies eager to invest in Iran.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari denied that Doha contributed funds to the reconstruction fund for Iran.

“We cannot comment on the $300bn allocated for reconstruction,” he told a reporter when asked about the figure.

STRAIT OF HORMUZ AND BLOCKADE OF IRANIAN PORTS

U.S. President Donald Trump said the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened on Friday and he had ordered a lifting of the blockade on Iranian ports.

A senior Iranian official said the strait would be reopened "to all commercial vessels" once the memorandum was signed.
Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported that under the memorandum, marine traffic through the strait would be regulated by Iran in coordination with Oman.

IRAN'S NUCLEAR PROGRAMME

Both sides have said that Iran agrees that it will neither produce nor acquire nuclear weapons - a promise Tehran has been making repeatedly for decades.

The senior Iranian official said pending a final agreement Iran would freeze its nuclear activity, refraining from further uranium enrichment or the expansion of nuclear facilities.

The senior Iranian official said the U.S. had agreed that Iran could dilute its stockpile of highly enriched uranium inside Iran under a future comprehensive agreement.

Trump said on Saturday there was no urgency to extract Iran's stockpile of nuclear material, and that the U.S. would retrieve it "when all is calm".

Trump said there would be a strong inspections regime for Iran under any deal, but he did not give specifics.

Under the agreement, the US will allow Iran to sell its oil and petrochemical products, and Tehran may be able to tap into a $300 billion development fund if it meets commitments related to its nuclear program in further negotiations.

The document does not include specifics on what will become of Iran’s highly enriched uranium.

The US official told CNN that the text reflects the agreement signed digitally by President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Iranian parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on Sunday.

However, given both the US and Iranians’ secrecy around the language, it remains unclear whether the draft text shared with CNN will reflect the exact wording of the final document due to be signed in person on Friday in Switzerland. Technical details are also being finalized so the wording could still shift.

a joint statement issued earlier, G7 leaders called for “an immediate ceasefire” in Lebanon.

“In Lebanon, we support, through an immediate robust ceasefire, the Lebanese leadership’s efforts to achieve the disarmament of Hezbollah and the monopoly of arms, and to protect Lebanon’s territorial integrity and sovereignty with the appropriate international security guarantees,” the statement said.
