Moditva Magic ::: West Bengal verdict 2026 :::: Union Ministers give a standing ovation as Modi breaks 'Nehru's record' :::: "A king with a humble soul indeed attains the highest glory", says PM

Having first assumed office on May 26, 2014, Narendra Modi completed 4,399 consecutive days on June 10, 2026 as Prime Minister, overtaking the record of India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.

The first PM had served 4,398 uninterrupted days as the head of an elected government after the first general elections in 1952.

"Public service is the greatest measure of good governance. It is only the individual who works tirelessly with humility, dedication, and a sense of duty who earns the trust of the people," the Prime Minister wrote.

Invoking a Sanskrit verse on leadership, Modi stressed that rulers must remain committed to the welfare of citizens and govern with humility.

To mark the occasion, he reflected on the values of public service, humility and duty that he said form the foundation of good governance.

"One who is devoted by nature, every intent on the welfare of his subjects.

A king with a humble soul indeed attains the highest glory," he said.

In his congratulatory message, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the 12 years of PM Modi's governance "have been about restoring India's pride, cultural renaissance, and freeing the nation from the mentality of servitude."

The emergence of a BJP government in Kolkata is extremely significant for the people of Assam and other northeastern states. But it also important from national security perspective vis-a-vis border management with Bangladesh.

The state of West Bengal is far more than just another Indian state. It functions as the living cultural, linguistic, and demographic mirror to Bangladesh. But it is also true the entry of illegal Bangladeshis has been a major issue of concern and now everyone will expect our government to deliver on this.

It is always relevant to talk about issues such as unemployment and women safety.

These two factors have cost Trinamool Congress the most. The Mamata Banerjee also faced the charges of corruption. People were fed up of corruption and also the culture of cut money and syndicate raj.

Several reasons are being attributed for her defeat. But let me focus on one key element.  Over the years Smt Mamata Banerjee had earned the image of being a pro-Muslim leader.  We cannot dispute that. But the West Bengal mandate has taught something very serious.

One can win election by the image of being pro-Muslim. There is technically no harm in that. But it is diffcult to do well electorally - when your image is anti-Hindu.

Mamata Banerjee and her party have failed to realise that without their conscious knowledge perhaps; the TMC has crossed the bar. Trying to emerge as a pro-Muslim party; it did not realise it had become anti-Hindu.

At the national level and also in Assam, the same thing had stuck the Congress party. In Assam, the Congress has come down to 19 members today. But the bigger message is - it has 18 Muslim legislators. In TMC's case also, it has 40 Muslim legislators.

The fact of the matter is by default, the Hindu voters and pro-nationalist voters have come closer to the BJP.

The election outcome in West Bengal and Assam are being closely watched in Bangladesh as well.

And this is understandable because related subjects such as migration trade routes and shared rivers do figure when it comes to the ties of Assam and West Bengal with that country.

Now, the Lotus is blooming from Gangotri to Ganga Sagar.

West Bengal will plunge into a development journey and this will push other states in the north east region.  The BJP is already controlling 78 per cent of India. What an achievement!

The Viksit Bharat by 2047 now looks a reachable target.

But despite all that 'good' happening around, there are people who vote against Namo and the BJP. In 2024, the BJP got shocking defeat in Faizabad - where stands the grand Ram temple at Ayodhya.

Among those in Ayodhya who voted against the BJP in 2024 was Azaan Ahmad, who runs a clothing business.

He claimed he was “fed up with the dictatorial attitude of the Modi government”.
