Activist and educator Sonam Wangchuk joined Cockroach Janta Party's protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar ::: Slogans chanted said -- : “Cockroaches are coming, Dharmendra Pradhan is going!”

Delhi police tightened security at the airport and the Jantar Mantar protest site, setting up steel barricades at key points as 'satirical' Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke arrived from Boston and led a protest demanding resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Scores of students, parents and young professionals gathered at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on Saturday for the first major on-ground mobilisation of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), transforming a satirical online movement into a street protest demanding accountability over alleged irregularities in examinations and recruitment tests and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Wearing cockroach masks, carrying books, flowers and the national flag, protesters assembled under tight security.

A PIL was filed before the Allahabad High Court a few days back by a BJP worker seeking the 'extradition' of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet.

Besides seeking, Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation; the group has made it clear that it would fight the BJP. There could be caste-dynamics at play.

Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the viral "Cockroach Janta Party", belongs to the Dalit community.

For Saturday’s (June 6th) march, CJP organisers rallied supporters to demand the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, after an exam irregularity controversy and alleged Question Paper leakout and CBSE re-examination flip flop in May that quickly transformed into frustration over India’s education system and limited job opportunities.

CJP supporters chanted slogans including: “Cockroaches are coming, Dharmendra Pradhan is going!”

Organisers of the march encouraged participants to bring India’s national flag and a book, which they said symbolised the right to education and equal opportunity for all. They also urged demonstrators to remain peaceful and avoid any confrontations with police.

Now, a Pakistan and ISI-asset claim against Cockroach Janta Party, its founder

Cockroach Janta Party has exploded across social media in India ever since it was launched a week ago. With virality, has come a raft of allegations. Several BJP leaders have alleged that the party had 50% followers from Pakistan and its founder was an 'ISI asset'.

A key allegation that has resurfaced against Abhijeet Dipke is that he is an "ISI-paid asset".  Several users, including BJP leader Tajinder Bagga, have shared a 2019 complaint that was filed by Legal Rights Observatory (LRO).

It accused Dipke of promoting Pakistan-linked narratives and provocative content. The complaint was filed as the Narendra Modi-led government abrogated Article 370.

Last month, India’s Chief Justice Surya Kant likened young people who criticised the government to “cockroaches” and “parasites” during a court hearing.

Kant later said his comments were taken out of context. But Abhijeet Dipke, a political communications strategist and Boston University student, used the insult as inspiration for a parody political party.

Within a week of launching a website and social media accounts, CJP’s Instagram page soared and by Saturday had amassed more than 22.2 million followers, with the slogan: “A political front for the youth, by the youth, for the youth.”

Is everything happening organic is a question !! Are things being controlled at some level -- somewhere outside India ?

Delhi High Court refuses urgent hearing on PIL seeking crowd control over Cockroach Janta Party June 6 protest

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday expressed support for the Cockroach Janta Party's protest, saying the movement reflects the anger and frustration among the country's youth. In a post on X, he urged the Modi government to address the concerns raised by the protesters instead of branding them anti-national, and demanded that the Prime Minister immediately remove Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan from the Cabinet.

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday voiced support for the youth protesting at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged exam-related lapses.

Thackeray said the Centre should listen to the concerns raised by the students and young protesters and cautioned the government against underestimating them.

"Movement will continue until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns", says CJP

Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, said the protest at Jantar Mantar will continue until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.

Addressing supporters, Dipke questioned how many more student suicides the authorities were waiting for and asserted that the movement would not stop until their demands are met.

Some supporters of BJP and the Modi Govt have dismissed the CJP as nothing more than a social media gimmick.

They argue that the parody party’s social media success might not translate into political street mobilisation and that its rapid rise will likely be fleeting.

"Caste Challenges - Not new to Hindutva nor to Modi"

Key figures include Hardik Patel (who led the Patidar quota agitation), Alpesh Thakor (leading OBC-Thakor organizations), and Jignesh Mevani (a prominent Dalit rights activist and independent MLA).

The CJP leans heavily into self-mockery.

Its tongue-in-cheek membership criteria include being unemployed, lazy, chronically online, and capable of ranting professionally.

Its manifesto uses satire to address several contentious issues in Indian politics, including opposition allegations of voter manipulation, criticism of the relationship between corporate media and the government, and the appointment of retired judges to official posts.
