Mirage is what Naga people are given out
Muivah's words match Neiphiu Rio's Bravado about 'developmental achievement's'
If Govt of India does not make sense of it ... well and good. Least -- seek Chief Minister's resignation
NSCN I M leader Thuingaleng Muivah's speech has no Reconciliation Tone
If Muivah was unable to speak .... physically ...
Did second rung leaders "betray" Govt of India and other non-Tangkhul non-Naga communities ?
Big Picture message but a sad and tragic tale is NSCN-IM and especially the Tangkhul leaders are not for any Solution even after Muivah or by 2047
.... or 2063 when Nagaland state would be 100 years old.
The Solemnity of the occasion demanded 'different speech' and different approach !!
A Historic Good Gesture would leave Kukis and Meities 'rethink'. A great waste of Good opportunity
Has the aging militant leader and his Team mocked at Team Modi ?
One feels sympathetic and even aghast to the most deplorable picture of Naga society. Otherwise looking directionless. Commoners have to cough out huge part of hard-earned money to multiple factions. There is joblessness.
In some parts, Nagas want to dissociate and latch on to "greater autonomy" gift from New Delhi - and then two big leaders make statements as if golden era has been on for last 10 years or so.
Chief Minister Rio played up rhetoric to his full scale on Oct 21. The next day towering militant leader - who rejected Solution in 2019 on whimsical grounds - now says --
the three political milestones that have been achieved in the current political peace process between the Government of India (GoI) and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN).
Most of his speech was only repetition of what has been stated numerous times through various press releases and other articles either by him or other associates including Rh Raising and V S Atem.
By insisting that only the Framework Agreement should be respected; he is not even showing reconciliation with other Naga factions - the conglomeration of NNPG to be precise.
And hence the drama of resolutions from Mokokchung to other towns has fallen like a pack of card.
The Status Quo club remains where they are.
In someway, it could be a setback for the Govt of India. But now that New Delhi has ensured his trouble free visit and even enlisted letters and statements of support from Kuki and Meitei organisations - New Delhi mandarins can claim --
"... We have exposed before the world ... who does not want Solution".
Is this a hidden master stroke by India's maverick Home Minister Amit Shah ?
It is again a case of Neiphiu Rio to step down... something he is determined not to do.
A successful former Congressman became a regionalist NPF. He floated NDPP and is back with the NPF fold as its organisational and legislative wing head.
Two things are awaited from onetime low-profile man from Northern Angami 2 --- as NPF chief he can nominate his Man Friday (Mani Shankar Aiyar) or a kid/brother as the next chief minister.
And yet again he can go for another round of merger. This time the colour can be shaded reddish=brownish.
Peace and Solution go for a toss in between
Even hardline defenders of the project 'Somdal visit' - either in Imphal or in Delhi ... will not be able to defend this kind of speech delivered by an aging person.
If the NSCN-IM was not in the negotiation process -- this is a perfect speech from a guerilla leader.
But from a group and its leader - who enjoys Delhi's "hospitality building" at Lodhi Road and even taking other favours written or otherwise --- such a statement should be accompanied with Hajmola tablets.
And one get away with such tricks -- if you have been doing all these lifelong.
A new betrayer will first get a shock himself to speak out in such a language.
Mark the audacity -- a man and a group should have apoligised for multiple lapses including ordering of assassination of talented Angami Naga -- Chalie Kevichusa is today seeking apology from Delhi.
Most undiplomatic part of the statement was this:
"It is time for the leadership of India to realize its mistakes, change its terror pogrom, and apologize to the Naga people".
People might have sympathised with a 91-year-old person and hence ground was created for his visit to native village.
One former military officer says: "Muivah could not utter a word... that means it is the other people who have used his name to ventilate their own ideas or the NSCN-IM ideas of no reconciliation after so much of talks. Pragmatism was the mega casualty today".
Another analyst said - "Left to me ... I will say it was not Muivah's speech. Muivah has been good in political diplomacy. To be frank does not mean to be impolite... Today it was an impolite speech... things have been said which is not palatable to NNPG, Govt of India and worse even to Kukis and Meities... all in the name of my last visit to my land where I was born".
To a question the analyst was further pointblank: "I am also aging ... I would not have allowed anything like this if I go my ancestral village now in Pakistan.... there was no decency. So let the other communities realise that even if Muivah dies after five years or so... how are these people going to behave".
Has it come to this stage that Meitei leaders such as O Ibobi Singh may say -- "Look, this is why I opposed Muivah's visit to Somdal in 2010".
Is it a case for N Biren Singh to say -- "Was it being naive for Meiteis to welcome Muivah in Manipur?"
