BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya on Tuesday shared a video clip that has gone viral.
It shows the Congress leader at a 'night club' presumably in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Malviya tweeted, “Rahul Gandhi was at a nightclub when Mumbai was under siege. He is at a nightclub at a time when his party is exploding. He is consistent".
He further took a potshot - "Interestingly, soon after the Congress refused to outsource their presidency, hit jobs have begun on their Prime Ministerial candidate (sic).”
The video shows the former Congress president accompanied by a friend at a dimly lit nightclub, with people dancing to the loud music.
Of course Congress chief spokesman Randeep Surjewala did not miss much time and quickly plunged into defence of his leader and the lawmaker from Kerala, Rahul Gandhi.
"Rahul Gandhi went to a friendly country Nepal to participate in a private marriage function of a friend who also happens to be a journalist... last I checked, having family and friends and attending marriage ceremonies is a matter of our culture and civilization," Surjewala said.
A section of Nepali media reported that Rahul Gandhi had gone to Nepal to attend the wedding of a friend named Sumnima Udas.
He was accompanied by three other people and put up at the Marriott Hotel in Kathmandu.
The video came at a time when Amethi MP and Union Minister Smriti Irani was visiting Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi’s
constituency in Kerala.
Rahul Gandhi lost Amethi, the traditional family bastion, to Smriti Irani in the 2019 elections.
In a Facebook post, apparently a Nepali citizen wrote, “Indian Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in
LOD (Lord of the Drinks).”
As expected, people mocked at Rahul in social media including Twitter.
One netizen wrote -- “The whole world was lecturing Rahul Gandhi to focus on the party. And now
that he is seen partying in a nightclub, they are making fun of him. Not done".
“Rahul Gandhi strengthening Congress at an international platform. Real leader, leading from the front,”
wrote one Ninda Turtle on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi accused the Congress leader of being "a full time tourist and
a part time politician who is full of hypocrisy".
The Congress has serious organisational challenges and the recent attempts to take corrective measures with
the help of poll strategist Prashant Kishor too did not yield expected results.
Sonia Gandhi, Congress interim president, recently dropped Sunil Jakhar, a senior Punjab leader and
K V Thomas from Kerala from 'all party posts'.
