Another jolt to TMC, party MP Sushmita Dev resigns from Rajya Sabha

A former Congress leader from Assam and Trinamool Congress MP Sushmita Dev on Wednesday resigned as a member of the Rajya Sabha.

The second TMC MP to do so this week after veteran Sukhendu Sekhar Roy.

Ms Sushmita Dev, a former MP from Silchar in Assam, had joined the TMC a few years ago. She met Vice President Rajya Sabha chairman C P Radhakrishnan and resigned from the membership of the Upper House. 

Sushmita is daughter of Late Santosh Mohan Dev. 

She also met Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
