Some people cannot change, will never change :::: Trump trying to disguise a 'failed war' of choice as a diplomatic victory

Donald Trump’s Iran deal: a pause is not a triumph

Israeli PM Netanyahu avoids criticizing US-Iran deal, claims war’s main goals have been achieved

The irony is that Iran had offered better nuclear terms before 28 February. Mr Trump gambled that decapitating Tehran’s leadership would win him more. Instead, he has ended up with less.

US President trying to disguise a 'failed war' of choice as a diplomatic victory

It may be a common wisdom that any "deal" with Iran is better than war with Iran.

But the US president is hailing as victory the partial easing of a crisis that he, and Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu, helped create.

The measure of success will not be the reopening of the strait of Hormuz, which war had closed, but whether the next two months produce a verifiable nuclear settlement and put out the flames fanned by the US-Israel attacks.

If that fails, the war will not look like the prelude to peace. It will confirm to every Gulf monarchy, oil trader and military planner that Iran has a chokehold over the global economy.

"This episode may belong in future histories of US decline because it exposes the gap between American military capability and American strategic control," says edit in London's 'The Guardian'.

Trump wants to present Iran’s position as submission. Tehran sees something else: a case for compensation, sanctions relief and leverage over Hormuz. The final agreement, if it happens, will depend on which story wins out.

Trump was convinced that "decapitating Tehran’s leadership" would win him more. Instead, he has ended up with less.

Iran believes that the Deal has proved the price of excluding it from the Middle East’s order, and that reopening the strait of Hormuz is a concession for which Washington must pay. The US president has a very different view. He is therefore, trying to hide the difference with bluster.

In a revealing interview with the 'New York Times' on his 80th birthday, Trump claimed that he has forced Iran into a nuclear climbdown and turned America into the paid guardian of the Gulf.

US Vice President J D Vance claims Iran's Nuke programme has been destroyed and they will never to get one in future. How does that really sound ?

Test this: Barack Obama has said in the past. "It is doubtful that any agreement that arises, it is significant that ....

Question being asked is obvious : What did Trump-Vance team do; that Obama did not ?

Not to forget, this war in 2026 has come with a global tax.

Iran deal presents political nightmare for Netanyahu

The US ceasefire agreement with Iran has presented Israel's prime minister with a political nightmare, smashing the three cornerstones of Benjamin Netanyahu's political career, and leaving him trapped in a new security dilemma.

How can the man who styled himself as the political whisperer of Washington, with real influence over American politicians, be sidelined quite so comprehensively and insulted so publicly by his key US ally?

How can the man who made taking on Iran the centre-piece of Israel's security policy end the war with Iran's regime arguably in a stronger position?

And how can his old, tarnished political image as Israel's "Mr Security" survive the demand from Washington and Tehran that Israel cease attacking Hezbollah in Lebanon, months before an Israeli general election?

Netanyahu has a new strategy ... Avoid criticizing US-Iran deal !!

“With an agreement or without an agreement, Iran will not have nuclear weapons — not today and not tomorrow. As long as I am prime minister of Israel, it will not happen,” Netanyahu declared, insisting that this was his “life’s mission.”

The premier, who is facing mounting domestic backlash — including from within his own government — over the US-dictated terms for the apparent end of the war, reiterated his assertion that the nuclear threat from Iran had been an “immediate danger,” ...

---- which Israel successfully removed “together with our American friends.”
