Rahul Gandhi had his birthday on June19th ::: Politics plays up ... for 2029 ::: Desperate Congress projects Rahul as 'future PM'

A few questions might have to be repeated.

Does anyone still hold the right to be called 'kid' or immature at the age of 56 ?  People may still ask -- What can happen if Priyanka Gandhi outshines her brother? Rahul Gandhi had his birthday on June19th ::: Politics plays up ... for 2029

Desperate projects Rahul as 'future PM' notwithstanding cross voting in multiple states and alliance partners having their reservations and even disapproval. Nevertheless; to be out of power is a FRUSTRATING and all that is Palpable.

He is two years older than his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Priyanka Gandhi is 54 years old, while Rahul Gandhi has turned 56.

Even at the age of 56, Rahul Gandhi remains unmarried.

His marriage has often been a topic of public discussion, with political leaders including Lalu Prasad Yadav joking about it on public platforms. Sonia Gandhi has also been indirectly linked to comments about finding a suitable match for him.

On June 19, 2026 -- Varanasi poster on Rahul Gandhi’s birthday sparks political buzz

He was projected as Parashuram. As if Hindu votes can come so easily !!

What stood out on June 19th was the birthday greetings from an estranged ally: the DMK leader M K Stalin.

M K Stalin sent 'Birthday wishes' to LoP Lok Sabha but drops the word "brother" .... "in ideals" - the missing phrase tells the story of Congress betrayal to an old ally.

June 19, 2025: DMK supremo and then Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin wrote on X, “Warm birthday wishes to my brother-in-ideals, @RahulGandhi — bound not by blood, but by thought, vision, and purpose. May you continue to stand firm and lead with courage. In our march towards a brighter India, victory shall be ours.”

June 19, 2026: Stalin, now a former Chief Minister, posted on X, “Birthday greetings to Hon’ble Leader of Opposition Thiru. Rahul Gandhi. Wishing you good health and happiness.”

In a surprise and self-seeking move, the Congress snapped ties with the DMK on May 6 (after polls results came on May 4th) and put its weight behind actor-politician Vijay’s TVK.

The DMK responded sharply to the Congress move, with Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi Stalin accusing the Grand Old Party of “stabbing in the back”.

Various alliance partners will not be happy with the manner, the Congress tried to project Rahul as the future PM.

A few more questions. What if the media lavish more attention on Priyanka than Rahul Gandhi?

But Sickular media in India is a loyalist stuff. And hardcore. They know who is stronger; but they also know whom to praise.

Of course, many believe Rahul Gandhi will take on the role of 'formal head of the INDI- alliance'.

But there are preconditions. The job of keeping the opposition united will be a tough and tricky one.

There are related matters and exactly how the coalition will take shape remains unclear.

The defeat of Mamata has marginalised one rival. But Akhilesh Yadav, who won 37 seats in 2024 Lok Sabha polls, too will be in the competition.

So to talk about 2027; it may be argued that the Congress will not be interested in Yogi's ouster than the marginalisation of the Samajwadi Party.

Whether the opposition parties will come together with any 'form of uniting document or Common Minimum Porgramme' is still unclear.

Most want it simply to be a "temporary marriage of convenience".

But with such politics and 'absence' of unity of purpose; the strength to stand up to PM Narendra Modi in parliament and elections - is still far off.

The Indian voters only add to the complexities of Rahul, his ecosystem and also other opposition parties.

The 2024 election had at best given a very nuanced verdict.

Modi returned to power and since then has been dominating all the state elections including Haryana, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal and Assam.

Thus; a "complete defeat" for Namo is still a mirage.

While the NDA Govt has been accused of systematically targeting and weakening the opposition since Narendra Modi was elected in a landslide win in 2014, the ineffective politics of Rahul Gandhi - simply banking of Modi bashing - has not worked out successfully.

If the the 'biggest story' of June 2024 was the "reversal of fortunes" for the Congress party -- that could win 99 seats; it may not be still the right time to describe these as the "emergence of Rahul Gandhi".

Can voters in northern states and now Maharashtra or Gujarat and West Bengal  – agree to take Rahul as the legitimate political leader.

Prior to 2024 poll results; the Congress party had been facing existential questions about its future and a groundswell of malaise within its ranks.

In 2026, except Kerala the Congress has not able to deliver. And in Kerala, reasons are different. It has nothing to do with Rahul's perceived or the so-called hyped charishma.

Rahul Gandhi is still a non-performer. He is still not the vote-getter. And he would still be described as a reluctant leader and too weak to take on Moditva.
