The Defence Minister visited INS Vikrant in the Arabian Sea weeks after its lead role in Operation Sindoor, which pressured Pakistan into a ceasefire.

"Our attack was so strong that Pakistan started pleading to the world to stop India.

"We stopped our military actions on our own terms. The role of the Navy in this entire integrated operation has been glorious. During Operation Sindoor, when the Air Force destroyed the terror bases on Pakistani soil, your deployment in the Arabian Sea, unmatched maritime domain awareness and maritime supremacy confined the Pakistani Navy to its own shores.

They could not even muster the courage to come into the open sea," Singh said.

INS Vikrant's deployment acted as a strategic deterrent and sent a strong message to the adversary.

The battle group's presence in the northern Arabian Sea, comprising 8 to 10 warships including destroyers and stealth guided missile frigates, reportedly influenced Pakistan's decision to seek a ceasefire. Pakistani naval forces remained docked at the Karachi Naval Base during the recent military conflict, avoiding direct confrontation.

The deployment included seven destroyers equipped with BrahMos missiles, Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missiles (MRSAM), and Varunastra heavyweight torpedoes, capable of engaging surface, aerial, and underwater threats.

Operation Sindoor was launched amid heightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours earlier this month in response to the deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam which killed 26 civilians, mostly Hindu tourists.

The Navy's forward positioning of the Carrier Battle Group, with MiG-29K fighter jets embarked aboard INS Vikrant, demonstrated India's readiness to escalate if provoked — not just at sea, but against coastal assets as well.

In Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said ---  "The Pakistan Army, under whose protection terrorists used to infiltrate, was brought to its knees by our forces in one swift move.

Within minutes, several airbases and terrorist hideouts in Pakistan were destroyed.

This is the new India, and this is the strength of the new India," he asserted in Bihar's Karakat.

Modi pointed out that he had promised to avenge the deaths in the Pahalgam terrorist attack, and that today, standing in the state, he had fulfilled that promise by "reducing terrorist headquarters to dust".
