After the briefing by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri,
Leader of parliamentary Group going to South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Qatar, NCP (SCP) MP Supriya Sule said:
"We are going to give a message of peace and friendship... Our group leaves tomorrow for South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Qatar.
India is against terrorism and has zero tolerance towards it.
India will continue its fight against terrorism..."
"The gruesome attack on Indian civilians in Pahalgam was an attempt to undermine india's social ethos, our economic momentum and our democratic underpinning.
We as a country have bled but also stood up strongly, as reflected in Operation Sindoor, and now we have a national security and counterterrorism doctrine which is coherent, which is clear and which is credible.
"As Prime Minister Modi announced it on May 12, it is this message we would like to take to the rest of the world so that our friends and partners understand the logic, the necessity and the basis of our response..".
"India and the countries of the Middle East have exponentially improved our relations. During the last ten years, our Prime Minister has visited every Middle Eastern country in the Gulf; this has never happened before.
Our trade with that region has grown exponentially... Therefore, in some ways, the Middle East is our extended neighbourhood, and it is important for us to explain to our extended neighbourhood the imperatives that made us respond like we did (Operation Sindoor).
"And if they have some influence over Pakistan, then this is the time for them to use that leverage and make them understand. Because going down this path is not going to be beneficial for Pakistan, but also for the neighbourhood in general...".
After the briefing by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, member of another Group and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey says,
"Terrorism is a big issue and we have been affected by it since 1947. This is one reason Pakistan and India could never have good relations... There is no nation which has not been affected by terrorism...".
Member of Group 2 and BJP MP Daggubati Purandeswari said: "... Our point would be that we are not waging war against any one country but rather against terrorism that is being state-sponsored."
