Modi 3.0 is happening, but Mood of the Nation survey does not give 400 to NDA ::: Says only 335

'Mood of the Nation'-India Today survey predicts a hat-trick win for Namo and his Moditva brand of politics -- wherein there's a right synthesis of development and Hindutva. Ram-leher will be an overwhelming factor nevertheless.

I.N.D.I alliance is projected to secure 166 seats with chances of big setback for AAP in Delhi and for Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress in West Bengal.

In Bengal, TMC vote share likely to drop by four per cent but AAP set to lose all seven Lok Sabha seats to the BJP in Delhi.

Days after 400 for NDA claim by PM Modi, 'Mood of the Nation' survey favours saffron party even in 'unexpected pockets'

Mood of the Nation: BJP projected to make a clean sweep of all 7 Lok Sabha seats in Delhi.

The saffron party had won only one in 2004 (Vijay Malhotra), lost all seven to Congress in 2009 and has been all seven in 2014 and 2019.

The Lotus party appears to be continuing its 'dominant streak' in the national capital, mirroring the landslide victory it achieved in the 2019 general elections.

But it is also true in Delhi assembly polls, in both occasions -- 2015 and 2020 -- the AAP under Arvind Kejriwal had won landslide wins. In fact, in 2015, the Modi-led outfit was handed over a shocking defeat when it won only three seats in the 70-member legislature, and AAP earned the tag of Ak-67.

The Mood of the Nation's February 2024 edition is based on a survey of 35,801 respondents in all Lok Sabha seats. The poll was conducted between December 15, 2023, and January 28, 2024.

(warning: Opinion polls can get it wrong)

The Mood of the Nation survey indicates a robust 57 per cent vote share for the BJP, the same as last time.

The AAP, which has previously enjoyed overwhelming support in Delhi's Assembly elections, is set to witness a contraction in its vote share, which is now predicted to be just 15 per cent.

Good news for the Opposition alliance is expected from Tamil Nadu.

As per the Mood of the Nation poll by India Today Group, the Opposition alliance is projected to win 47 per cent of the vote share in Tamil Nadu.

The survey predicts the Opposition (DMK and Congress) victory in all 39 Lok Sabha seats.

Much to the discomfort of YSR Congress party of Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) led by Chandrababu Naidu is likely to win 17 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh.

While the ruling YSR Congress Party is expected to secure 41 per cent of the vote share, the TDP is likely to get 45 per cent. On the other hand, the BJP-led NDA and INDIA bloc are likely to get 2 and 3 per cent of the vote share respectively. In 2019, the Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh were marked by the overwhelming success of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), which won 22 out of the 25 Lok Sabha seats.

This was a significant sweep for the YSRCP, leaving the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) with only three seats.

The real battle could be warming up in West Bengal. A few weeks back, a survey commissioned by Trinamool Congress reportedly has shown that about 55 per cent of the respondents in West Bengal are rooting for Narendra Modi as prime minister again.

The numbers indicate a potential advantage for the BJP in the state in the Lok Sabha elections just months away.

On the survey question about whether Mamata too was a potential prime minister, about 20-25 per cent of the respondents were affirmative. Another 10-15 per cent voted in favour of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. While the TMC is unwilling to officially comment on the survey, a senior party leader conceded that the report was a matter of concern.

Now, the Mood of the Nation-India Today survey in Bengal. The findings are not very encouraging for Trinamool Congress as well.

The Mamata Banerjee-led party is all set to maintain the lead by again securing 22 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. West Bengal has 42 Lok Sabha seats. And much to the chagrin of Mamata, the BJP is expected to improve its performance in West Bengal, winning 19 seats -- that is one seat more than what it had in 2019.

Notably, Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress is expected to get 53 percent of the vote share, a decline of four percent from 2019 and the Lotus party is projected to secure 40 percent of the vote share, which is the same as in 2019.

The Opposition I.N.D.I bloc is set to sweep all 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala, predicts Mood of The Nation.
