Battle of 2024 !!! 2019 show was so poor by Congress and other opposition parties that they have huge ground to make

2019 show was so poor by Congress and other opposition parties that they have huge ground to make

BJP's biggest strength is their performance in 2019 polls. In 272 seats, the BJP vote share was around 50 per cent. This is huge numbers.

In an interesting development, the leader of opposition in West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, claimed that he has got sufficient documents that can establish the involvement of Mamata Banerjee in the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam.

He will soon meeting CBI officials with the documents.

Ravi Shankar Prasad, BJP says: "Opposition meet is a congregation of self-seekers".

Unlike her usual bravado; West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee maintained complete silence before leaving for Bengaluru to attend the grand Opposition unity meeting.

English media + Opposition = very strong

Modi + caste equations = stronger ?

Look at the Big  Picture....

There are six parties in the Opposition camp which did not win even one Lok Sabha seat in 2019. These also include supposedly big-time sickular parties such as RJD of Lalu family and also communists Forward Bloc.

There are again, five parties including AAP of Arvind Kejriwal and also JMM in Jharkhand who have won only 'one' seat.

Congress had polled 19.7 percent votes in 2019 winning 52 seats. In contrast, the BJP received 37.36% of the vote, the highest vote share by a political party since the 1989 general election, and could pick up as many as 303 seats -- crossing the psychological 300 mark barrier. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in total won 353 seats.

While media hype is mostly about 'Opposition unity' meet in Bengaluru; NDA plans big by winning caste leaders in UP - also wooing TDP and Deve Gowda's JD-S

Congress in 'Philosophical mood' .... ? Why ???

#ChiragPaswan of LJP (Ram Bilas) was always close to #BJP but now technically joins #NDA.... "38 parties are in NDA", says BJP president J P Nadda

The saffron party's back channel interactions are on with N Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP and also H D Deve Gowda-family-run JD(S) in Karnataka.  Deve Gowda's son Kumaraswamy did not rule out alliance with the BJP.

Congress says, the Opposition parties are getting together not just to usurp power but to address the “genuine concerns of the world’s biggest democracy” that are “ignored” by the Modi Govt.

#NCP chief   Sharad Pawar to skip #Opposition dinner on Monday, as he will  chair a meeting of his party MLAs in Mumbai. He will be present at the meeting of Opposition parties planned on July 18 in Bengaluru. #Modi to chair NDA meet in Delhi on Tuesday

Ding Dong bell; some Netas in the well !

#Opposition unity platform won't be #UPA....UPA was Congress led....so name change likely in Bengaluru...is it a snub for Congress

....and symbolic win for regional parties .....??

From southern India, the BJP has struck a deal with  Andhra Pradesh actor-politician Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party

Respecting the highly emotional and influential caste sentiment estranged Samajwadi Party ally Om Prakash Rajbhar’s Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party has been already embraced.

In another significant development, two days after he resigned from the UP assembly, Samajwadi Party leader Dara Singh Chauhan joined BJP on Monday. Both Rajbhar and Chauhan may find berth in the Yogi cabinet in Uttar Pradesh. Chauhan was earlier with the BJP and had joined Samajwadi Party in 2022 just before the assembly polls.

Chauhan is likely to help BJP in eastern Uttar Pradesh. "The prestige of PM Modi has been continuously increasing," he remarked.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said the sudden attempt to breathe life into the NDA by convening a meeting after the Patna conclave indicated the BJP’s uneasiness.

KC Venugopal was brought as party general secretary in-charge Organisation by Rahul Gandhi. He has been retained by Mallikarjun Kharge. How democratic was that decision, no one knows. Whether Shashi Tharoor or Ashok Gehlot would have retained Venugopal at the same post remains a subject of academic interest.

On Monday, July 17, Venugopal said one single meeting would not be enough to provide answers to queries on whether the alliance will have a new name, or a common minimum programme.
