A number of BJP leaders including the likes of Suvendu Adhikari and state unit president Samik Bhattacharya have urged 'party workers' to stay away from post-poll violence or vandalizing TMC offices.
"This is not our political culture," -being the common refrain. Samik Bhattacharya even said if the perpetrators are identified as regular BJP leaders or Karyakartas they could be suspended or even expelled.
Another leader said in many places, the disgruntled TMC workers are taking revenge on their party colleagues because of factional clashes.
Sajal Ghosh went to a local TMC office and made the Trinamool workers open the office and said "You keep my number; and call me next time if there is any problem".

"I have not forgotten anything, March 14 and Nov 10, 2021 .. they indulged in violence and attacked BJP office," Adhikari told a large gathering who were there to welcome their son of the soil and the representative. "At one point I had to seek intervention of the High Court for certain solemn functions," he said.
"Ami Bhuli ni .... Bhuli Ni," he said in a choked voice drawing applause from the crowd. But he hastened to add the punching line -
"Sab ainee pothey hobey (Everything will be done as corrective measures but according to law," Adhikari said.
"My appeal is to all BJP workers across our state .. please maintain cool and calm. Shanti Rakhun," said Adhikari, who was once a confidant of Mamata Banerjee.
"The BJP has been voted to power by the people. We shall function in the manner an following the right so that the BJP will be power for next 100 years".
"Oi paapi der office hath deben na (Do not lay your hands on the offices of those sinners - paapee," he said.
